Radio Tuner - WMP9/Corona

Question

I just wondered if anyone has experienced the same problems as me with the Radio Tuner is Windows Media Player 9/Corona builds 9.00.00.2773 & 9.00.00.2798.

When selecting a radio station from Radio Tuner/Featured Stations (ie. Virgin Radio) and clicking on the play link, it displays the website for the station, tries to connect to the radio and the eventually times out without playing a single thing.

I realise that this is beta (or not even beta, but leaked) software and to be honest it's not a big problem, but I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has had the same issue and maybe has even found a workaround.

I've also noticed that if you got to the radio stations own website and choose to listen from there that you also get the same problem.

Thanks for your help.

Yes. I have got the same thing. I was trying to listed to my favorite station, 933flz.com, and it times out. I figured it was WMP with a bug.

no wmp9 2773 hasn't given me any trouble with the radio tuner. I listen to a rock station on it everyday. No probs yet except that it won't play all the mpeg/mpg files that it used to in v8.

Hi Guys - thanks for the replies.

What O/S and service pack etc. are you both running?

Is there anyone else out there who is or isn't working - let's see if we can find a common setup for those that are working and those that aren't...

Thanks Jish

Looks like it's a problem with Zonealarm - I disabled it for a short time while I tried the Radio Tuner - and guess what? - It worked!

I've just got to figure out why Zonealarm is blocking the requried access...

No problem. I just edited my ZoneAlarm prefs, and it worked too. Seems that WMP9 is a little touchy when ZoneAlarm is used.
