Nice, thanks a lot. A little confused when it's updating the definition file as there's no progress bar.

Same... made me think the program went broke. I must say I liked AntiSpyware better, but we'll see what happens after I play around with the program for a bit.

After a reboot Windows Defender is working well.

The only thing is that the look of the product does not fit well into Windows XP.

For instance the Vista type arrows. Then again as long as it detects and clears malware, that is really what matters.

Well I just installed the program and now it will not update. It gives me a Windows Defender message that says "Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x80240025

I even tried a reboot and nothing...

My firewall is off and still no go. Anyone else have the same issue?

Becuase last year at the same conference he annouced IE 7 and the new Antivirus and Antispyware programs. My guess is he will announce beta 2 tomorrow as well

Thanks for the heads up :) it looks much better now...not so sure about the icon though  plus I noticed it no longer has a system tray icon so you have no idea if it's loaded or not....needs some more polish but other then that it's good :)
