Remember Scour Exchange?

Question

Does anybody here remember Scour Exchange or CuteMX? I was just thinking yesterday out of the blue about scour, to be honest that had to of been one of the best p2p programs ever. Aside from crashing once in a while, I could find just about anything, from anyone, at extremely high speeds.

I was talking to a friend of mine about Kazaa since it seems to be as popular as the napster boom, we're debating on reverse engineering Kazaa and making our own clone, although it may be a little hard for the both of us. Has anyone else attempted to do this? I know there is a project on sourceforge but to my knowledge it does not work at this time...

Cheers,

Crane

globalscape, maker of CuteMX chicked out and shutdown cutemx.

scour was bought by sony and supposedly will be used to distribute their music.

giFT used to be open source clone of fasttrack clients, but kazaa is able to "poison" the network very fast blocking out any clones. now giFT is trying to make generic interface/protocol for all filesharing networks
