"So where the bloody hell are you?"

That's the new slogan for a range of tourism advertisements to try and get people from overseas to visit Australia.

The advertising campaign cost A$360 million (approx US$266m) which I think is a complete waste of money because I think it will offend people.

I've found through experience chatting online and in person to non Australians, I have found that many things I say are interpreted differently. It's easy to offend people by saying something that I find perfectly acceptable.

I think this is a classic example of where an Australian would find it somewhat humorous, as would many non Australians, but many people from overseas will take offence to it.

So, what's your opinion? Would a slogan like that offend you? Do you think it would offend others?

I don't find it offensive. The word bloody is something I use alot and hear alot. You really need to find out from people that don't live in Australia to see if the word bloody offends them.

I watched the new Harry Potter movie last night and the worl bloody was used 5-6 times. And thats a family movie......

"Bloody" in Australia is such a throw-away comment. In the UK we often use it to replace a more vulgar word. I can see it not sitting well with some people, but I'd hardly call it offensive.

I don't find it offensive, my uncle uses it alot cause he lives in Australia. Anyways, I don't think it's suitable for such a slogan!!

I can't vote, I get an error  If I could ... "I don't find it offensive, I think others might"
