Problems with Norton Anitvirus Auto Protect

Question

When I run Antivirus, and go to options and check the "enable Auto Protect" box, and click ok i get this internet explorer script error:

Line: 25

Char: 5

Error: Unspecified Error

Code: 0

URL: res://E:ALT~1.PRONAV200~1NAVOpts.dll/optionsbtm.htm

and auto protect will not enable. Any help would be appreciated.

Common fault - I had same issue..

Try going to http://service2.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.n...ror*boolean=and<>&sone=nav_2002_tasks.html&stg=3∏=Norton%20AntiVirus&ver=2002%20for%20Windows%202000/NT/Me/98/XP&base=https://www-secure.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/&next=nav_2002_ActiveData1.html?base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/!!next=nav_2002_contact_tscs_solve.html&src=sg&pcode=nav&svy=

Should be what you need to start with - hope it helps, sorted me out anyway. ;)

by 'service could not be deleted' - I guess you mean the dll file [im sure this is what fixed one of my script error probs]..

I guess that you are making sure that NAV [not just the auto-protect obviously], are not running??

Failing all else use the sys-manager to kill it - you should then be able to extract dll no probs..

All other script errors , it was same format - involved a replacement - one occasion pretty sure I d/loaded something from symantec to replace/execute, but dont remember its title..

I never had to re-install NAV for any script error.
