Raum
Do you feel that technology has benefitted us more than it has harmed us? Do you feel cars are worth the effects of pollution? All these life-enhancing technologies worth over-population? Or are you in the camp that we as humans are incapable of handling technology in a civilized, peaceful manner, evidenced by World War 2, The Cold War, 9/11 and so on? Do you feel a technologically-based society, such as the US, is prone to isolation? How about technology and how it affects consumerism. Companies trying to tell you your current products are obsolete is one of marketings most used tactics. Share your thoughts....all of em. In todays day and age, I can talk to all you people from varying countries simply by connecting a cable to my computer and having the proper software installed. But I also can't walk anywhere within a couple miles of my house and not see an unnatural light. It also proves difficult to find a grassy meadow, or an unihabitated swamp.....a dense forest......so much concrete. It seems there are few places to go in our average US towns besides stores and restaurants.
runningking7
This was one of the SAT essay topics! Yes, just take a look at the Internet, automobiles, cell phones, laptops, research equipments, etc. It is because of their existance that our lives are so comfortable. Although some abuse what technology has to offer, it is their fault. The bright minds adapt and take full advantage of technology and benefit all. Laurë Veteran Posted February 28, 2006 Veteran Share Posted February 28, 2006 I voted 'Other' because I do not think an over all conclusion is possible. Many technologies have only benefitted us, others have only harmed. Our intelligence allows us to adapt or abuse anything for our own purposes be they good or bad but that is down to humanity and not the technology. If I really had to give an answer I would err on the 'benefitted us' side because it is upto how we use it.
