I'm considering moving my computer from my livingroom to my bedroom, will soon be living two people in my apartment and I feel having the computer in the livingroom belongs in my bachelor past.

Choose 4 if your office also is your bedroom or if you live in a small apartment where your livingroom also is your bedroom, or any combo like that.

Pros with having it in livingroom is that I have the TV within viewing distance, rarely watch it but I have my HTPC connected to it so I use it as my jukebox, and it kinda makes the bedroom sacred for sleeping and misc acitivites without the disturbance of a computer.

Cons is it makes my livingroom space smaller, and when either of us just needs alone time while the other has friends over it's nice to have the computer in a room by itself. It also gives me grown up points I think.

Input would be nice in addition to vote so I can make up my mind, my gf says she doesn't care which I think she does or atleast will so any ladies pov on this would also be nice.

At the moment my HDTV and PC/xbox360 are in my bedroom, as I'm decorating the living room at the moment.

Will move all of it downstairs hopefully by next week.

I also have an office with a email/browsing only PC, dual screen set up, but I haven't used it in weeks. Might turn the office back into a spare bedroom though. :/

Depends which computer...

The media center lives under the TV.

The family laptop lives the vicarious life, flitting about all over.

The desktops and work machines all live in the study.

The servers live in a ventilated cupboard in the study.

My MacBook Pro currently lives where ever my lap happens to be...mmmm very warm.

I have a whole room to myself, as I kinda need it for all my music stuff. Mrs McNelson knows I'm a nerd and need a nerd space.

In my bedroom, making far to much noise, which pleases my gf no end :/

Haven't really got the space to put it anywhere else though.

the one in the LR is my "MAIN machine" and is used on an hourly basis for games, email, music (loud) etc.

the one in my BR is my "stereo" and is used at night, soI don't have to crank the main on (my roomate thanks me *L* he dosn't like Christian Music *L*, and having the 2nd PC in my bedroom, allows for him using the computer later. I Tue-Sat and he dosn't, so on Fri night he stays up and uses the PC or SP2. And this comin' week is March Break for him, so while I sleep he'll be up late.

I live in a 'bedsit' (or studio apartment if you want to be posh).

Anyway that means living room and bedroom combined, with the computers in there.

I'm living with my bf and while we can't really escape each other when at home we can be in each other's company and still do our own thing. Works for us, though neither of us are very sociable so we don't have the problem of friends being round.

If I were your gf I don't think I'd mind the computer in the living room too much. I think I would prefer it if you spend alot of your time on it in the evening so I could still talk to you occasionally etc etc. It really depends on how much alone time and privacy you both need.

I still live with my parents, so I've got my computer in my room. I just hope to build up my entertainment center a bit so I can split the sound system with the computer and TV.

Where's the option for the basement? It's the best room in the house, I've got my server and gaming machines down here along with my TV and rather large 5.1 system. It is a great place for the comps as the temp is usualy pretty cool. I had one computer and a 27" TV in my bedroom for awhile but they were heating up the place too much for my comfort.

My wife and I have what we call a hobby room. It has my computer stuff, and her craft stuff. It's a 13X17 room (converted garage), concreat floors. It's perfect for us. We did have my PC in the living room and a smaller room was her craft room. But I'm on the computer and she's crafting way more then we watch TV, so we changed things around. And this is working out great!
