I personally can't stand myspace. It reminds me of a poorly coded geocities homepage with an overload of personal information. The idea itself is good, but if I wanted to make friends I would go to places where I can converse without the use of a keyboard.

People take that damn website far too seriously.

I was dragged into it on one of the many tsunamis of fad, and I admit I am active on it, but the concept of the site is not bad. In fact I've been able to find some people I haven't seen in nearly ten years. What makes it bad is all the idiots whose entire worlds revolve their myspaces. All the stories you hear on the news, all the hyped-up media shows that promise "The Horrors of Myspace" are the result of stupid people who can't see past their own friends list.

I find it very useful for keeping in touch with friends that have conflicting schedules with mine and others they know as well.

I agree, I like knowing what has happened to my old buddies.

People (even those that I know) take it way too seriously. It's a great way to keep a track of friends, or make friends even but there are some people whose lives completely revolve around MySpace.

The music is the most annoying part. I know loads of people with accounts, but I'd rather have my own personal blog whcih I can really customise.

Lol, I did millions of 'bruce dickinson' poses on webcam and my friend made an avater from them! And myspace is crap in my opinion, tohugh it's great for keeping track of people and promoting bands.

I hate the people that ###### on myspace, getting as many friends as they can, it's lame.

Well, yo uknow, you guys can always ignore those types instead of letting something so petty bother you to the point that youu're unable to enjoy a useful website. But I think that falls under the jurisdiction of common sense....and we don't know how that foreign territory operates. :ninja:

I think a lot of people are petty and childish in their opinions about it..It's nothing fantastic as far as websites go, and yes there are a lot of rather lame peopl eon it...

-BUT-

You do not have to look at these peoples pages, add them to your friends list etc. You can simply add the people you know and are friends with and leave it at that.

Used like that, it has its purposes, and isn't all too bad of a way to post a blog, keep in touch with not-so-close friends or people you used to hang out with and so on.

It gets a lot of **** from you guys when really you can easily ignore / not view the **** you guys go on about, for the most part.

Ditto.

I use it, but i use it properly. I dont go around adding random people for the hell of it. The people on my friends list are actually my friends...and some of them are family.

  • 2 weeks later...

MySpace = teh devil. I absolutely hate it. Some kids at my bro's school (8th graders) have one and say they are 21  One had a pic of my dad (he's the 8th grade teacher) and he was very angry about that because it had his full name and his shirt had the schools logo. :o
