BeerBro
What do you guys think?... I'm still not sure whether I should rent a tux or not because I asked quite a few of my friends and they're all just going to wear suits. Would I look bad in a suit with my date? (I'm sry... but I'm really clueless as what to expect.... plz help)
Koolslacker
If you can afford it, go with tux (rent it).
metallithrax
I'm 37 and have never worn a suit or tux in my life. I think you should go with what you are comfortable with.

Toastyone
What is your date wearing? You don't want to be underdressed for her.....if she is decked out and you just have a plain suit she might feel a bit put off :p I myself prefer suits, but thats because I own a few and I just like wearing stuff I own...but it really depends if you don't have either

P.M.K
Can't believe most of you have suggested a tux! Those things are really not very stylish. Mate you gotta go with a suit!
crazzy88ss
dude... those look just like all the tuxes that we worn to both my sr ball and jr prom. Both of my tuxes were NOT just white/black, they had color.

Seth
I went and got my measurements at the tux place, then turned around and bought my tux on eBay for $65. It's gotten 3 proms and a wedding's use, so I saved a TON of money :) and it's a good tux... the price tag that was on it said $495.

TheTerminator
Wear a tuxedo, its tradition. Plus its one of the rare occasions in life where you get to wear one! I wore a full tux plus tophat to my prom, it was awesome. I'd also ask your date what she thinks you should wear as its a bigger deal to them then it is to us guys. +Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted March 21, 2006 Subscriber² Share Posted March 21, 2006 I'm sorry but wearing a suit just shows making no effort. I adore making the effort, spending time getting ready, having a freshly pressed shirt, newly dry-cleaned tux, braces, PROPER (tie up) bow tie, polished shoes. It sets you apart from those people wearing a suit. Sorry but to me, making an effort just shows you care for your appearence. You'll look back at your pictures in years time and think "WOW - I looked awesome :)" or "Hmmm, I look like it's just a regular day :(" Also, look - how do you want your date to see you? As someone who made an effor or not? Formals are fun for guys but mean so much more to girls. They spend time with corsages, doing hair/nails/whatever. Out of respect alone, make the effor to make her night amazing!
curme
Wear a tuxedo jacket and pants, but with a long tie (no bow tie) and no cumberbun. Maybe a vest. Like HERE
