Raum
No. My XP system is incredibly stable. Doesn't ever crash, I only format when I feel like it.
Denis W. Veteran Posted March 18, 2006 Veteran Share Posted March 18, 2006 No. My XP system is incredibly stable. Doesn't ever crash, I only format when I feel like it. That was what I kept saying to myself, until something messed with my hard drive's MBR. I almost lost my entire partition until I used a program called Active@ Undelete to grab stuff off the messed up partition (yes, the recovery console didn't help out in this case). Moral of the story: don't assume you're invulnerable to problems, and keep backups. You're not cool by running XP without a firewall, antivirus, utilities, etc. or formatting every two weeks (no I am not directing this towards you, just in general). evulfun
Over and over and over and over. Being the IT manager, to me it should be in every toolkit. I never leave home without it.
