W1cked-J
Suit? err this guy does not wear one.. sorry... :pinch: If I have to get dressed up it's a shirt and Tie thing.. no suit for me. I hate being that formal, feel goofy. LOL But there is no need to spend HUGE $$ on one. You should be able to piece one together for around $150 - $200. ThunderRiver
If you want a suit that make you look great, Men's Wearhouse is the best place to go. As for price, it normally ranks around 200 to 300 if you are going for a great deal. It really depends on how much you intend to spend. Bring a female friend (who are interested in guys) or a male friend (who are interested in guys too).. they tend to provide excellent suggestions on what you should wear. P.S. Don't laugh at my comments about homosexuals. They are truly great at making men look good. They know how to dress at least.. you can't get that wrong. russ0943
Go to Kohls, jcpenny, dilliards...places like that instead of a 'suit' place. You'll spend 200 for a basic one. Kohls is a good option though.
SkyyPunk Veteran Posted March 20, 2006 Veteran Share Posted March 20, 2006 i get my suits from jcpenny... city street suits, almost always on sale. something like buy the pants get the jacket, or vice versa. usually around $80ish. then probably kohls for the shirt, should be able to find a good one for < $20 or $
runningking7
Okay, how about for a skinny person? Mens' Warehouse provide suits for large-sized men.

Kohls is a good option though. Yes Kohls is a great place for shirt and ties. I don't know about suits though. To me, suits are special..and it is one time investment that you should not just go to a regular place. For the rest, yeah, find great deals somewhere else. I got my suit at Men's Wearhouse for $250 (coat + pants + vast.. and the whole nine yards). I got a coat there for $99 (on sale) runningking7, I am very skinny. Men's Wearhouse is not just for fat pep..
lawtai
You'll typically want to get a suit tailored. That's the best way for you to look good in a suit.
mercuryx013
I bought a suit from the Suit Warehouse for about $80.
Max Veteran Posted March 20, 2006 Veteran Share Posted March 20, 2006 What kind of suit is that?... A cheap one (that inevitably, you will wear probably once a year) that looks alright without paying hundreds.
runningking7
Oh, doesn't Mens' Warehoue sell really big suits? I'm not very big, so I'm wondering.
Intelligen
I wear dress pants and shirt and tie, if i need a jacket, a simple sports jacket does the job, no reason to buy a suite set, Spendy spendy! Though i suppose some jobs require them.
mircleman
my first was a armani , Thats still pretty much all I wear. and at that time it was $2200 now you could'nt touch it for less then $4000
zivan56
Last suit I wore was borrowed from a friend, so it was free. That was the only occasion I had to wear one though...
Ajapi
You're 17 and don't have a suit?! Wow..I got my first suit tailored when I was like 8 :p Anyways, its because here in the Dominican Republic big fancy parties are made for girls when they turn 15..So every odd weekend I gotta wear a suit (hence the reason I have about 6 or 7 suits). If you get yours made by a good tailor, expect to pay about..I dunno, $500 or $600 (quick conversion in my head to US dollars hehe). Once you have a suit (if you're only buying one, make it a black one, since it is good for any occasion), get yourself some nice shirts and ties. If you don't go to many formal activities, then don't get french cuff shirts, as they are strictly for very formal environments.
P.M.K
My first suit was a black Najee suit about $400. I now own 8 suits. My most expensive suit is a Hugo Boss. $2200. If you get a new suit make sure it?s NOT double breasted. Also make sure you have a decent pair of shoes. You can be dressed in the most expensive suit, tie and shirt in the world but if you have on a cheap looking pair of shoes then it will spoil the rest of your outfit.
