kombolcha
1. more stress is put on the second "S" making sound like a "Z" 2. the second "S" sounds is pronounced like the first. some ugly visitor lady gave me a verbal beating about pronouncing her name.. she said she'd never heard it said so "awful" not like i give a ****.. but now i'm curious as to how everyone else pronounces that name. Sensayshun
I blur it all into one long mumble, you wouldn't be able to tell which of the above I said :p But if i slow it down it's kind of Su-Zen as said above.

nexess
Probably Su-zen, seeing as its not "Suzanne" to do the Su-Zan. Pronunciation for me depends on how comfortable I am with the person.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted March 22, 2006 Veteran Share Posted March 22, 2006 (edited) I am Canadian and I say it "Su - SEN" That's what I would say too but I didn't see it listed. Edit: Oh, it was listed (it looked weird when I read it) The "zed" sound would only come into play for Suzette or Suzanne.
