I live in Scotland so weather here is just damp 24/7, so when it gets cold and damp I tend to try and stay in and sleep as much as poss :p so yes I hibernate in a way

Like as in furry animals , or as in hibernate my PC?

If PC - yes.

If furry animal - no.

Er, same here, but from the way the poll looks that's not what they're talking about

yet another completely ridiculous poll, not that mine are brilliant, but still.

You're just saying that because your eMac can't hibernate. ;)

Sleep is the same thing as hibernate isn't it? If so, then yes, I do hibernate.

Nope it's not. Hibernate is basically Sleep (on Mac OS X) or Stand-by (on Windows) with the difference that you're computer actually goes off, as in that it doesn't use any power anymore.

As far as I know, on Mac OS, sleep powers down the computer (while still technically being on) which is the same as Windows stand-by mode. Hibernation is when the computer powers down completely but writing your current session data to the disk first before shutting down.

I however, do not hibernate my PC much.

  • 2 weeks later...

I consider Hibernating as staying inside a lot.

Which I tend to do when summer ends and the weather starts to get cold.

Once I get used to the cold weather again, I?ll start to venture out again.
