EZRecovery
So far I have not found a bug in OpenOffice. It does everything that Office2003 does and MORE. For example, if you have a word document that would like to convert to PDF you will probably get Adobe full version. I know there are other small programs out there that can convert, but the most known program is Adobe. Anyway, with OpenOffice you can convert it and you do not need to buy an extra program to do that. Yes, I do use Office2003 because since I work for a college, I'm allow to install it on my personal computer, but my other computers I have OpenOffice. Why pay $600 for Office 2003 full version?, when you can make a small donation and still not going over $600. /EZ Edited April 6, 2006 by EZRecovery
boogerjones
Office 2003. VBA is reason enough for me to use it. I can accomplish things with spreadsheets using VBA in 1/100 the time it takes others to do the same thing.
Mathiasdm
Both are equally good for home users, but I prefer OpenOffice. I noticed it's just a matter of getting used to.

dragon2611
office 2003 but then i got it cheap though work. but then i find openoffice is qute good also and use it sometimes. If i had to pay full price for office 2003 then i'd probably not bother with it and just use openoffice.

macstorm
Office 2003 by farrrrrr :) OpenOffice is quite limited on features and file sharing.
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted April 7, 2006 Ask the same question on a pro-Linux/OSS forum and you'll get the opposite result...Ummm... Let's just think about that one for a second. :ermm:You can't run Office 2k3 in Linux. So I guess that little detail will kind of skew the results a bit, you think? ;) As for me, I prefer to use OO.o. MS Office is a better product, but the features I use are in both products. I don't VBA. I don't collaborate in realtime with other users through a Windows server. I just do the occasional word document and spreadsheet. OO.o does a great job.
