Imo the poll options are too broad, the ones at the lower end of the scale should be split up like

<500

501-1000

1001-1500

1501-2000

2001-2500

2501-3000

3000-4000

4000+

Anyone (other than professional athletes) who eats more than 4000 calories a dat would be the size of a house lol.

I try to eat less than 2000 a day, but I really have no idea at the moment, probably why I need to lose a few pounds

How many calories in 8 pints of Guiness, 6 big f-off pieces of breaded chicken and a side salad?

Because I had that for a meal last night, and it was yummy.

Oh, and I had a breakfast stottie this morning, sausages, fried egg, deep fried mushrooms and two rashers of greasy bacon.

Perfect hangover cure ;)

1000-2000... I'm not counting, but from the occasional checks I do, I use to eat about 1300 cals / day. 1500 would be quite much to me, involving e.g. at least a large pizza for dinner. Then again, I'm not so physically active (probably less than I should be), so I'm trying to adjust my calorie intake from that. I'm not on a diet. :)

Personally I think that poll was a bit strange. It can't be that common to eat 4-5 kcals / day or so. :o

If it's not an athelete doing that, may god have mercy on that person's soul.

You didn't have much to tell here, did you? :(

I aim to keep it between 1500 and 1800. A couple of years ago I could eat a lot more and not gain weight, but then my metabolism slowed down or something. So I keep the calories low, and I exercise regularly, and it keeps me fit. Sometimes I drink more than I should, and there are a lot of calories in alcohol, especially beer! So probably twice a week I finish up with daily intakes of 2000 to 2200 or maybe more! LOL!!!

Eating under 1000 calories a day is really dangerous.

I'm at 1500-2000. Been cutting down. I could normally eat 3000-4000 calories without gaining weight but that wasn't healthy. I ended up having high cholesterol so I had to cut down.

Found that oatmeal fills me up big time and so does honey green tea. So I have green tea twice a day so I don't have to have snacks anymore, just not hungry.

Probably around twice as much as an average person on a lot of days. Real big, high metabolism, real active. I rarely snack, no junk food or fast food, no pop, coffee or caffeine etc. Things I eat often would be carrots, banana, milk, orange juice, turkey, chicken, wheat bread, rolls, steamed rice, shelled unsalted peanuts, plain almonds, plenty of water....

I don't keep track of calories. The things I watch out for on food labels is sugar, saturated fat, artificial sweeteners and abnormally high numbers in other things like sodium.

I have between 2000 - 3000 a day.

Men are supposed to have 2500 a day.

Women are supposed to have 2000 a day.

Those are guidelines. Obviously it would change around that number depending on age, weight and height. :)

I should split it up a bit than I did last time:

Breakfast:

- Nothing (usually don't get up until 11am on weekends/holidays. And on weekdays I don't have enough time).

Lunch:

- Varies (usually cooked meal sometimes salad).

Snacks:

- Very rarely have a chocolate bar.

Dinner:

- Cooked meal.

Drinks:

- Water (sometimes lemonade/coca cola/fruit juice).

I weight 64Kg.
