New Public Beta Build of Windows Media Player 9 Released (Build 2800)

Recommended Posts

I just took a look over at the Windows Media Download Page, and amazingly enough, I saw this:

Windows Media Player 9 Series Beta (for Windows XP) - updated build 2800

Get fast and flexible playback with the best audio and video quality for Windows and the Web. Includes special new features optimized for Windows XP. Read more about the updated build 2800 in the release notes.

This build apparently fixes reported issues related to personal firewalls and surround sound speaker settings, according to the release notes. There doesn't seem to be an updated version for Windows 98, ME, and 2000. Grab this new build below!

Why would they release an older build ?

I downloaded 2799 off em originally, damned if I am gonna redownload the entire package for 1 build update...
