BananaMan
Caught this over at zeropaid.com and xp-erience.org. Here's an small snippet of the article. As a follow-up to the article posted here, there appears to be even stronger evidence of this soon-to-come paid version of KaZaA, dubbed 'KaZaA Plus'. Hidden in the KaZaA v2.0 executable are many instances of 'plus' features which might very possibly be related to a subscription-based service that Sharman, along with Altnet, is planning to initiate in the near future. Another explanation could be that Sharman Networks will release a separate, more advanced 'plus' upgrade version of KaZaA. Read the full article here. mimeryme
wonder what the strategy will be. if it ain't good, there goes another p2p service. good usually mean free though. there can't be a plus service that's free can there?
Electronic Punk
Wonder if the subscription version will contain adverts.
hurting101
That's interesting to see. I wonder if that can be activated, like after a certain date that box pops up. And if Kazaalite disables it, that would be considered "warez" wouldn't it :s? There goes Kazaa, along to rest in peace beside Napster, Morpheus, and Scour. Anyway, I was wondering when Kazaa mentioned the "Search More" button and I couldn't find it... EDIT: Thanks trashpickinman, didn't see that! A plus service that's free? Well, given the whole subscription-based references I would highly doubt KaZaA Plus would be free. I think though they will keep the free-based service running, since no P2P service that switched to a subscription-based service only survived, and they oughta know that. The RIAA will probably get on their asses though.
trashpickinman
try running regclean.exe with /d at the end from the Run box, to get the full UI, still not much there.

BxBoy
If the subscription fee is reasonable, I'll actually consider signing up. Of course there are some conditions, no spyware/adverts.
