What your IQ?

Recommended Posts

No choices because the minor variations make a big difference as IQ increases.

So consider the poll choices to be:

I never took the test

I took the IQ test and my IQ is....

last time i had it tested was to see if i was eligible for the gifted courses in school. somewhere in the high 140's, but i never paid much attention to it.

the 'gifted' courses were just as boring as the normal ones, but with even less direction. i stopped going after about three months.

wow, who runs your school system, they must have double digit IQs...

who the hell uses IQs as a measurement for gifted courses...you can have a super IQ but not work, or you can have a low IQ and work hard, guess who has better grades?

THe IQ tests only work when you're younger. E.g 3rd grade.

The IQ tests say, for example, you read at a 5th grade level when your in 3rd grade. THey get messed up as you grow older becuase it doesnt mean anything to be 30 and read at a 43 year old level so it shows your IQ as like 160 when really you're probibly just Average. 100-110.

Most people think that there like 140 when really they are only like 103-110 (Its called "Average" for a reason). If i remeber correctly my IQ in 2nd grade was like 110-123 but i cant remeber. My mom was a special ed teacher and she had to do these things all the time and explained how they worked to me and that is how i know.

Sometimes it's 70 something, sometimes its 80 something. Most recently, after I started learning guitar, it was 110. It varies, depending on how I feel. But no matter what It say's, I'm a smart, multitalented person that's always trying to improve and expand my abilities.

Yeah, it's variable with me too. Sometimes it's like 195; other times it's down around 130 (or even less). Depends on how much I've had to drink (and sometimes the intensity of my hangover the next day).

I did a real (paper) one when I was about 6 years old...unfortunately I don't know the results. Though according to my parents, it was somewhat high

I took an internet one 2 months ago and I was the dumbest person of the entire AeroXperience forums, with an IQ of 118!

Did I regress in intelligence in the 8 past years? Or is it the language I took it into? (English, my main language is french)

First, for comparison on the answers here, Albert Einstein is estimated to have had IQ around 160-180, and less than 1% of the population is estimated to have IQ 135+. Also, please do not trust regular "Internet tests" so much. ;) Actually, I could go as far as to say this:

I dont believe in IQ tests.

IQ can be defined as so many things, and even if I consider myself to have good analytical and logical skills, I suck miserably at more esthetical skills and admire many skilled musicians as geniuses. Those often have little to do with great IQ though, as these are based a lot on logical thinking. From own experiences, IQ tests rarely uniformly make people appearing smart to me gain good scores.

Actually IQ results don't fall into a normal distribution, there's no real consencus on what distribution IQ score take

Hmm... IQ 100 is actually defined as the average IQ for a person of your own age.

I.e. IQ 160 should be the IQ of a 16 year old for a 10 year old, i.e. a 10 year old quite fluent in secondary languages, basic social science, etc if that belonged to what was studied.

To me it seems like based under a normal distribution to me, or at least reasonably close to it.

Personally, I have no idea what my IQ is, but I've heard that passed university students should average around 110-130, so that's where I assume I am around. I feel it's quite pointless to point out one's exact IQ, as that differs a lot on the test taken (which, again, I think is too limited in scope and time to be worth little more than the paper it's written on, regardless if it's from Mensa or anywhere else), time of day, mood, hours slept, blood sugar levels, etc. At least rounding to nearest tenth looks reasonable to me to not give overconfidence in a huge number of variables that together indicate an IQ.

162, as taken in grade 1, and grade 3, and grade 6.

written test was 170

internet test was 175

HAHAHAHAHAHA....Can't say I didn't see those coming...

This thread is hopeless. If people keep posting off-the-chart numbers, then what's the point of this?!

Second reply: Around 19 inches

Third reply: 0.2 inches...on a good day
