Rib Feast
I was walking down a road with a friend probably 6 or 7 years ago and we were offered a free IQ test. It turned out to be a scientology scam, and while they did test our IQ they also did other tests and stated they were concerned I had a bad family life and was depressed (wtf!). I left as I was dying for a big mac (my friend and I were just about passing out due to being so hungry). I took the IQ test there and scored 132, I think that I could have done better had I not rushed it at the end so I could eat sooner. I've taken two more in my life, one I took and RACED through it and got 85  Another I took in university and scored 154. I personally fail to see how logical cognitive functions represent "intelligence" in a person, but each to his own..
riojin
if i had an iq of over 150 i wouldnt be wasting my time on a internet forum. id be out there making millions whilst putting in no effort mines supposeably 131 but thats probably bs, and i think ive gotten dumber over the last few years since i sat that test because of change of lifestyle etc. moved from wanting to do engineering and architecture to doing hourticulture, basically so i didnt have to think as much. im having trouble with math i used to think of as simple now simply because i dont have to think much in this profession
Avalanche
This thread is hopeless. If people keep posting off-the-chart numbers, then what's the point of this?!. Seems there are alot of little Einstein's around here ...
Pajter
Next thread: What's your penis size? First reply: Well, I was 12 inches when I was 10, now I'm 16 inches Second reply: Around 19 inches Third reply: 0.2 inches...on a good day me: This thread is hopeless I couldn't agree with you more. This topic is pathetic

PyX
Okay, so let's summarize Neowin : 1. Geniuses (90%) 2. More intelligent than the intelligence (2.5%) 3. Less intelligent than a worm (2.5%) 4. Normal people (5%) Woa... I didn't know Neowin was such a particular website...

trance
HAHAHAHAHAHA....Can't say I didn't see those coming... This thread is hopeless. If people keep posting off-the-chart numbers, then what's the point of this?! Actually 162 isn't an "off-the-chart" number... it is really rather reasonable... I should also add that I have 2 masters in molecular genetics and computer science, double major was genetics and chemistry with a minor in physics and I currently work as a software engineer. I worked my ass off for every single grade. Nothing ever came easy. Do I really care if you believe me? Not one bit. I know my IQ, no need to inflate it, and most of the time I don't tell anyone my IQ, nor my degrees. Many people will lie, sure... such is the nature of the net. I don't lie. What is the point? Farstrider
IQ ranges, average IQ scores, and IQ ratings are usually only relative - and they can change over time and with different tests. That said, it is generally accepted that for any IQ test that the average score is 100. The standard deviation (a statistical measure of the spread of results away from and average) is typically 15. Statistically this means: 2.5% of people are mentally deficient / impaired / retarded (under 70) 50% of people have Intelligence Quotient scores between 90 and 110 2.5% of people are very superior in intelligence (over 130) 0.5% of people are near genius or genius (over 140) Statistically this also means that 99.5% of people at Neowin are bull****ters:  One person said his IQ was 70, this is perhaps the most honest person at Neowin! As for mine I do not know it! I would say I am a pretty normal person so will fall in the area between 100 and 120. u_diddy
I'm a little hesitant to post my I.Q. here since there appears to be alot of skeptics. However, for the sake of fun, I will post it. It's 264, I guess i'm winning the smartest person at Neowin contest. Unfortunately, I don't my score will hold up. LOL. Seriously, last time I checked it a couple of years ago it was

ring0
wow, who runs your school system, they must have double digit IQs... who the hell uses IQs as a measurement for gifted courses...you can have a super IQ but not work, or you can have a low IQ and work hard, guess who has better grades? easy there, killer. it was 17 years ago, so i have no idea what else they considered when they picked the students. what does it matter? k-12 was pretty much worthless, anyway. and as for the people freaking out with the "omfgz ur all liarz" comments... is it really so hard to believe? do you honestly believe the entire spectrum of (let's just pick a country here) american society is represented on a tech-based internet forum? hardly. moreso than most forums, i'd expect this place to have smarter-than-average members. Sorry, I seriously disagree with you! A disproportionate number of people on this site are really much challenged when it comes to grey matter and general savvy as well! Plenty of know-it-all and wise guys as well! The later part is definitely due to the fact that the average age at Neowin is very young indeed and as Oscar Wilde said, "I am not young enough to know everything." sanctified Veteran Posted April 17, 2006 Veteran Share Posted April 17, 2006 Took a test when I was 8. The psicologist didnt want to tell me (MENSA rules) but I managed to take a peek at the score papers. It was 156.
ring0
Sorry, I seriously disagree with you! no problemo - i just said i expected it, but i know otherwise :D just saying that i wouldn't expect a lof of the low-end of the scale to be lurking/posting here. a tech forum like this generally attracts people that are at least average, if not higher. soothsayer
According to the "Super IQ test" on tickle .com (http://web.tickle.com/tests/superiq/?c=50914&test=superiqogt) My score was 133. Whether or not it's entirely accurate, I haven't a clue.
Septimus
Mensa tested as 164. After CO poisoning, 152. Mainly due to string recollection (backwards more then forwards) being damaged. Really doesn't mean that much though.

Ryan Jones
In the "official" IQ test I had 165 and on the online tests which seem to be very inaccurate anywhere between 192 - 134. On a side note, you should never trust these results a they are based on your mood etc. Cheers, Ryan Jones
