ah, so that explains why one of our other MSFN admins found a lot of new features in 2800 which he hasn't seen before :)

those people on msfn are making statements with no fact to back it up. "this build is far more bug free than 2848".. how so? what does he know that everyone else doesn't? does he have some sort of bug list for each build in front of him and is comparing them visually to come to that conclusion?

geezus, come on...

maybe 2848 is the build beta testers are going by and MS just released an earlier one.....i mean come on now..it went from 2799 to 2800 sup with MS and their build numbers?

: i dont have any bug problems with 2848 as of yet so i guess i'll keep it

It would make more sense ....

Why would MS go bakcwards to fix bugs in 1799 if they were already at least at 2848... Hardly the way a company should work!

Thats pretty easy really, you have both builds, you use them both, i currently have 2848 on a PIII box and 2800 on a 2100+ XP box. both on XP pro.

no i dont have a bug list, but if you had a smack in the face with a shovel would you question weather or not it would hurt?

is a mini cooper faster than a subaru imprezza?

ok, ill reword it, Build 2800 has far less OBVIOUS bugs than build 2848. and is more of a "finished" product. especially the playlist area.. file info option and the "buy media" stuff.

jeeez........

MS went back to an earlier build and started again more than likely, so 2800 IS newer than 2848.

There are bugs in 2848 (and all other leaked versions) that are not in 2799 and 2800

ok whatever..i've just installed 2800 on a w2k box and it doesn't look like the screenshots posted in that msfn thread.

those screenshots must be from a WMP9 on an XP box.

whatever these "OBVIOUS" things are, i'm not seeing. so either you're full of crap, or i'm blind.

continue this argument amongst yourselves cuz i've lost interest

I noticed that media player 9 plays large files better .. I played a 8 gig movie last night with no lag. The progress bar is bigger (which i hated at first), but now its easiler to navigate.

slapped down by what? you? no, lost interest because this is hardly something to argue about. That and I don't have the time to argue about it, I'm at work. Play amongst yourselves ;)
