kombolcha
i've been working for just over 5 months now (OFFICIALLY) but if i summed it up all together for the contract work i did.. it'll probably be around 2 years. it was great then.. but now that i'm official, after 5 months.. its 50/50. it's the overtime and double overtime that keeps me waking up at 4 and 5 AM. W1cked-J
I have to go with a Hell yea for mine. I made a job change in Dec and it was the best move I could have ever done in my 14 years of working. Got a 14% pay raise and I do HALF the work I used to. Can't complain about more $$ and less work. But even with that aside I love what I do. Being an e-mail admin can be fun and yes sometimes a pain but the fun outweighs the pain.
Angel Blue01
I've been workign for a year and a half. I work 3 and a half hours a week in the Technology Center. I'm the lab assisant. I sit behind the desk and so peopel can ask me questions about the college computer system rather than read the instructions, ask a friend, or find the IT department, that I can answer or refer them to the tech people. I make $7 an hour. Its dull. Its more fun when I get to go volunteer at a church where I've been workign since I was 12. I'm the network administrator. I can actually solve those problems. Raum
I enjoy mine. I work nightshift (10pm - 6am) at Kmart doing stock work. +I work alone +I work at my own pace +I can take breaks whenever I want, however long I want (Just have to get my nights worth of work done) +Like going for a nice walk, I've got a lot of time to be alone in the store and just think +The work I do, pulling pallets of boxes out of receiving, cutting them open then stocking the shelves is easy as cake. Frees up my mind to think about anything I want. +Can wear headphones +this is the first time I've worked a job that fits into my schedule. With the hours I have, I don't ever have to wake up for work, I'm already awake. When I get home is the time I like to go to sleep anyways, so it works out good. +I get lots of reading done during break -Pay is horrible. I think I'm making less than a dollar over minimum wage -If I'm not wearing headphones, I'm listening to pop music and Kmart ads -One of my managers has control issues and tries to be rather bossy, but since going on nightshift I don't really interact with her anymore +No benefits, no future in the company, learning no skills etc. Overall it has some obvious downfalls, but I really enjoy myself there. I love working alone and unsupervised, and I've always wanted a nightshift position. The only thing that I'd really like to be changed is to be making another 2 or 3$ an hour, it'd add a nice chunk to my paychecks.

Ashiaveli
work at AE parttime downtown and its a 2 min walk from campus so i just go over before or after class. i wear what i want (doesn't have to be AE, can be anything without a logo and if tehre is a logo i just put a sticker over it). it doesnt even feel like work i just joke around with everyone. pay is ok i guess for retail, guess that's the only downside and there really is no where to go unless i go to fulltime. thinking of going to best buy for a change and more money. Master Shake
I've been working at Ridgid Tools for about six months now in the shipping department. I hate it. It's extremely boring because most of the time I just stand there and at midnight everynight the computers go down to back themselves up for an hour and half... so I just sit there some more. Plus I only make six bucks an hour. I should become a drug dealer.

jamend
I like my job, I'm a technician at a local computer store (MicroBytes). It's pretty laid-back and I get to work with computers all day. The customers have their ups and downs (ex. annoying disgruntled ones or humourous clueless newbies) but the only things I don't like so much are having to speak French (I'm not very good at it) and getting paid $9 CAD/hour... although my boss says he'll give me a promotion if I start comming in on time. Eventually it should be something good to put on my CV.
VazaGothic
I like my new job - I have just started it a few weeks back. Comparing to my old job (where I worked for the previous 2 years as a computer programmer) it's like heaven: - I got 100% rise, and finally I don't get paid for hours (granted, it has some downsides, like no overtime, but hell - I can just work 38 h/ week and no one will complain, and I will still get a nice paycheck) - I don't have that much of work to do (comparing to the previous one) - and the job I do is pretty challenging (data conversion( - people are nice (and finally around my age :) - I can write programs when I feel like it (just started learning C# and my boss encourages me to learn it and use at my work) - I am gonna get a new laptop from work - I can easily stay home and work remotely, but I like the environment at my work

Fedorpheux
I actually just started a job at Fred Meyers (this is my first week). I'm in the deli, but I might move around to different departments eventually. It's not too fancy of a job (like all you IT guys and such) but the coworkers are cool and it definitely beats doing fast food (like all my friends are doing). Basically, this is my job until I go to college (and hopefully I'll be able to also work when I'm home over summers and such). It totally beats my last job which was basically all outdoor physical labor with (usually) no coworkers to talk to and absolutely zero customers or anything like that. I guess it is a little bit of a pay cut from my last job, but it's okay.

sanghoku
sometimes, depends on what i have to do and the people i have to work with... i'm an it consultant, and i loved what i did in germany few months back, but now i'm on another project and quite often i just wanna run away or quit or jump out the window or something... it all depends... bad hting these days is that you don't really have a choice... it's not easy nowadays to just quit coz you don't like it and then hope to find another place... good jobs are scarce... but i'm still thinking of starting my own business someday... something like a pool hall but in stead with consoles and mini-lan... i think it might attract a lot of customers now with the insane prices of new consoles and games... (comon, 500? for ps3 and then 60? for one game (which might suck btw)???)
