[Release] CD Art Display RC4

Recommended Posts

I and many other users use a plugin to store the ratings of a song in the mp3's id3 tag.

I have a tag called rating which I set to 1 to 5.

Do you think you could make CAD read a rating of metadata from the mp3 and then display that rating?

Perhaps with an option.

And then let people change this piece of metadate by using the program to rate the mp3?

If you could do that I would be really happy. As that would mean there would be a more complete foobar solution.

Please, send me a mp3 with a rating so I can see if the ID3 module CAD uses can read it.

You can send me just a part of the file as long as the tag is there (e.g. using mp3DirectCut).

::::Edited: in addition, do you have a link to rating component?

I just installed WLM to see what all the fuss is about, and CAD does not update the display picture at all. I tried Update Display Picture and Update Both, nothing. It does update the Personal Status, but only when the track changes, not when WLM starts while CAD is already running. Not sure if that's intended or not.

In order to DP feature works you MUST HAVE the old Messenger installed!

You can read more about it here: http://closetosoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46&start=45

great program carlos! :D

one thing that i find a lil odd with the wlm integration...when selecting the default display picture...how come u can't see .png files? i have to copy/paste the address of the .png file that i want to use as my default dp :s

Ops! I forgot it! Here an updated build with png enabled:

hey this a great little thingy. I have a few personnal suggestions;

Since i usually use all my screenspace i don't always see the album art on the desktop, i was wondering if it would be possible to have some kind of autohide draw feature for it, or even have the tray icongrow when on mouseover, os the play, next .. etc would work.

acies,

CAD was not designed to be a notifier (like Toaster) but I add an option to "Hide case too" ("CP>Options").

So once checked not only the text but the case itself will be hidden. Again, CAD will not act like a notifier because it requires more code and some modifications which will take a lof of time...

CAD RC4 Build 613 (08Sep06)

- Notifier text background (*)

- Small improvements

(*) CAD now accepts skin with a "background.png"; once the file is found CAD will draw the text, fancy rating and progress bar considering the "background.png" dimensions; the "Max letters" should be considered when creating a skin with background or editing one; the download includes a simple skin I made (Small Fade) then you'll have a better idea on how the new feature works.

    • Amazon Deal: These AMD RX 9070 XT GPUs are very good offers by Sayan Sen Following the release of AMD's new RX 9070 GRE last week for $549 (our review), AMD currently has a couple of great deals on the more powerful 9070 XT wherein the GPU is on sale for $650. We already covered the Gigabyte Gaming model a couple of days ago which is still live at that price. Aside from that, the white ICE variant is also at the same price (purchase link under the specs table down below). This is interesting to note considering white cards are generally more expensive as they come with a premium attached. Similar to the Gaming model, the ICE card too employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The tech specs of the card are given in the table below: Specification Value Boost Clock Up to 3060 MHz (Reference Card: 2970 MHz) Game Clock Up to 2520 MHz (Reference Card: 2400 MHz) Stream Processors 4096 Memory Size 16 GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Clock 20 Gbps Memory Bus Width 256-bit PCI Express Interface PCI Express 5.0 Max Resolution 7680 × 4320 Maximum Displays Supported 4 Display Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Card Dimensions 288 × 132 × 56 mm (L × W × H) (2.7 slot) Recommended Power Supply 750 W Power Connectors 3 × 8-pin PCIe Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Radeon™ RX 9070 XT Gaming OC ICE 16G Graphics Card (GV-R907XGAMINGOCICE-16GD): $649.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $750) If your budget is lower, check this Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 8GB deal out for only $330 wherein you get the latest James Bond game free. • What about it? The old MV2 version will not work.
    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
