Scudworth
I can work just as easily in one as the other, but imo, it sounds pretty damn pretentious to say "it's fourteen-thirty hours" when someone asks me the time. It's so much simpler just to say "half-past two" It can also be referred to as military time. only by silly people who don't realize how wide-spread it's application is. If you want 'military' time, how 'bout we lock the forum time in 'zulu time' and see how you like that. I had my Timex Iron man set on 24 hour clock when I was in public school, it's really not that difficult....
John S. Veteran Posted May 9, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 9, 2006 I'm all for adding it as an option as well. We use a 24-hour clock at work, but I still glance at the pc to see what time it is.
machorro
yeah, an option to change it would be nice, for the ones too lazy to do the maths :p or the ones that don't like the 24 hour clock anyway :p

Mr. Jingles
So it's 300 million vs. the other 5.7 billion? I think the rest of the world is the larger crowd. If we consider that most members of Neowin are from English-speaking countries, then us 300 million have a very sizeable percentage here. And by the way, it's 6.2 billion - we hit 6.5 in global population recently.

Yes, but as we've determined, it's the rest of the world that uses 24 time, and while the country may not be English speaking, the member may be. ;)
+.Aaron Subscriber¹ Posted May 10, 2006 Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 10, 2006 Leave it be. I am not sure that they would be able to change it since this is standard in all IPB based forums.

There is an option for one or the other in the amdincp, but nothing to allow members to choose individually.
+.Aaron Subscriber¹ Posted May 10, 2006 Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 10, 2006 NM...found the option. But yes, members would not be able to chose this from their "My Controls" area.

And yet the question still remains, can we add the option for members as well?
