Babe Ruth did it on Hot Dogs & Beer.

How can you honestly say that he has no knowledge of sports when you speak in generalities, ew2x4?

People get bigger, stronger, faster... wow, that sure does argue your point extremely well. If that's the case, then Babe Ruth would be on a similar playing field with everyone else, since he wasn't as big or fast or strong as anyone today. But don't think that just because it was umpteen years ago means there weren't good pitchers. How about Bob Feller? Obviously not the same time period exactly, but there's still a guy who could pitch roughly 100mph in the 1940's and 50's, so is it that hard to believe players could get in the 90's in Ruth's era?

You can't compare the 100m dash to the home run record. For one, the technology is what has mainly changed in track. The shoes are a million times better, the tracks are faster, and the timing is more precise. That's an evolution in equipment just as much, if not more, than the evolution of people.

Maybe you should look at the amount of home runs Ruth hit in comparison to other players when he played. A home run was much more rare back then, yet he did it with seeming regularity. Not to mention all of the points Sir Kill Jerk just mentioned above.
