vassie
You can still download it for free, you have to pay for the Pro version, however the free one does enough for me :) ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/8.0/en/iso/i386/ Ben :)

praseodymium
Originally posted by Airw0lf is this kde or gnome used in the screenshots above? The screenshots above illustrate both Gnome and KDE. And I must admit, the UI looks pretty fancy. Too bad the OS didn't get that great a review in the article I read earlier this morning. BTW, how long does one think it'll take before we see a BlueCurve VS?

BxBoy
Woah Woah, I'm loving the screenshots, I'm definately going to give it a go ASAP.. now if only I can find a speedy mirror..
GeekBoy2000
If you find a decent mirror, please post it. I sure wouldn't mind an e-mail if you (or anyone) doesn't mind. Redhat's site is very slow, and every other one I've tried so far is either max'd out, or doesn't have the 8.0 ISO on the site yet. Thanks! e-mail: geekmaster@gmx.net

smoke
Most of those shots where Gnome2, but the last shot was KDE. How can I tell? Subtle differences in widgets and panels. KDE has a box around the task area and more rebars by the notificationclock area than gnome does. The colors in the desktop pagers look the same bug gnome2's doesn't have the desktop numbers in them. KDE has lines next to the rebars and gnome2 doesn't. Gnome2 has drop shadow under the icon lable text and KDE doesn't as far as I can see. Not to mention the fact that the KDE desktop features mostly KDE apps and the gnome2 ones feature more gnomeGTK apps. =? I think mostly what they did was make a KDE looking widow manager theme for gnome and a more GTK'ish looking dialog area theme for KDE. Oh yeah, BTW the fonts *are* looking better. Now.. where's the alpha blending support.;))
