RenegadeJr
Hey, they just did an article about this on the screensavers tv show. The ScreenSavers @ TechTV.com The Article About QoS (Quality Of Service) This trick doesn't actually provide ANY increase in performance. Thanks, Steve

Vlad
Never really understood this. You're a cable modem/dsl user with a network card. The connection between your nic and the cable modem is 10mbs. (I'm fairly certain it's not 100mbs, at least with all the cable modems I've seen). If Windows reserves 20% of the bandwidth, they hold back 2mbs, leaving you with 8mbs. A speedy cable may operate at say, 5mbs downstream. In a LAN configuration, most people with have 100mbs. Still, 80mbs of bandwidth left over. No cable/dsl uses anywhere near that kind of bandwidth. Except for transfering files between networked computers, exactly how does this change anything? Sounds like a placebo to me.
MxxCon
Vlad, read url i posted above. windows doesn't reserve anything unless you have QoS aware software running that specificly requested to reserve some bandwidth. therefore it makes ABSOLUTELY no difference on your network in normal considitions. any1 that says otherwise is fooling themself. For this 56k modem user, this tip was a god-send...
MxxCon
hey putzboy did you know that if you jump 4 times and turn counter-clockwise 5 times your computer will be 33% FASTER!!! GARANTEED! i mean all those movements speed up air molecules around you and your computer which in turn speed up electrons that power your computer! why do you think all those l33t hax0rz put so many fans on their computers? moving air forces electrons in your cpu to move faster! common, any blind person will understand that
