semifamous
You can't delete it, but you can hide it: Add this to your userChrome.css: /* Hide the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" folder inside bookmarks menu */ menu[label="Bookmarks Toolbar Folder"] { display: none !important; }

Prosidius
I added it but it seems FF is ignoring it. I renamed the file to userChrom.css and saved it as a css file but it doesnt work.

Kreuger
Or you could right click above the address bar and uncheck "bookmarks toolbar" that hides it too. I always do that then just put all my main bookmarks inside it through the menu
Prosidius
That turns off the toolbar(which I never use) but not the folder in the bookmarks menu.
cdkeyleo
There is a Firefox offical guide to delete the "Bookmarks toolbar folder": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_the_Boo..._Toolbar_Folder Firefox requires you to have a Bookmarks Toolbar Folder to have something to display when you choose View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks Toolbar. The default folder for this purpose is called (aptly enough) "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder". To delete this folder, you must first designate another folder as the folder to display on the Bookmarks Toolbar. 1. Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks 2. Click on any other folder 3. Edit -> Set as Bookmarks Toolbar Folder 4. Delete the folder called "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder"
