cub-x
Well, other scientists came to the conclussion that it's more likely that our galaxy (the milkyway) will 'collide' (read merge, because stars and planets almost never collide in a galaxy-merge) with another galaxy than the sun burning out or exploding.. There are too many different futures, for the sun, predicted by man. Guess we have to wait 'till it happens..

ClintEastman
God it's not even thought out!! "It's quite similar to when a star goes supernova at the end of its life," Dr. Van der Meer explains. "Over the past 11 years, we've seen our Sun go through changes frighteningly like those that took place in Kepler's Star right before it was observed going supernova in 1604." The changes they talk about are rises in temp/large solar eruptions (by the way, the one they mention is a tiddler). So how where these obsered in Kepler's Star in 1604? It wasn't posible to make the readings at that time!

I'm assuming that he was referring to the star they witnessed going supernova in 1604's light just recently got to us so they were able to observe it recently due to the huge distance of space and the speed that light travels. If not, and he's trying to say it was witnessed going supernova in 1604 then he's a moron.

JrDZ13
they say that the maximum human population that the earth can sustain is just over 11 billion, which is within the next 50 years! So one way or another, we're all dead. But then again, we're all gunna die anyway, just no one is gunna replace us this time... lol ;)

It was discovered on October 9, 1604, when it was already brighter than all stars in the sky, by several persons including Brunowski in Prague (who notified Kepler), Altobelli in Verona, Clavius in Rome, and Capra and Marius in Padua. They observed it in 1604, at the time they couldn't even work out the mag of the light, never mind the temps for the prev 17 years!! PS its a maximum of 20,000ly away.
