Ok so I enabled comments to be on by default for new posts. Under Options > Discussion the "Allow people to post comments on the article" box is checked. Which should set the default posts to have the comments enabled by default.
I am using FF extension called Justblogit, which is badass, but I am finding that this problem is only happening when I use that extension. When I post something new from the wp-admin side than it works fine.
In the past Justblogit has worked just fine and the comments have remained on by default. I am not sure what I should try to fix this problem.
I am going to try looking at the code for:
wp-admin/post.php
wp-admin/bookmarklet.php
Both files are included in every WP install and are used by Justblogit.
