If your survey is as general as this on phone carriers, expect the "Other" option to be quite populated. Rogers/Fido isn't there and its the largest in Canada.

I'm with Fido since aabout half a year, with the unlimited incoming plan. 100 minutes weekdays outgoing. for $25, good enough for me

I'm with Rogers. Family plan with my mom and my sister and we have 300 anytime minutes and unlimited after 6pm and weekends. It's pretty good but my part of the bil is a lot more then my moms and sisters because they want $5month for call display and $10 more for unlimited txting (well 2500 msgs but i never have gone past 600).

Comeon WiMax really take off and i'll get a VoIP WiMax Phone :p

Your poll has a few flaws. First, Boost is prepaid Nextel so it should fall under Nextel and second, Sprint Nextel should be seperate as they are still functioning as two seperate identities even after the merger.

Hmm, didn't know about that Sprint thing.

Boost, TracFone, and Virgin Mobile are all prepaid :)

To better clarify, Sprint is one company (they are not Sprint Nextel, just Sprint together with Nextel), but when you order either service, they function as two seperate companies still, though they function as one. It will take some time before they fully integrate.

O2 and Orange are big carriers in Europe, neither or which are in the poll.

I'm using Orange.

I have some old ATT plan that has been grandfathered and I still have it with Cingular. Not brilliant, but 1000 anytime minutes a month for $39.95 US isn't too bad.

Same here. I'm on a family plan with old AT&T (now Cingular). Cingular has been trying to get me to go to convert my current plan to one of their plans, but I don't want to lose my 7pm Nights and Weekends. My contract is up in July and I may be switching then. The phone choices for Cingular right now sucks. How many Razr phones are they gonna offer?

  • 2 weeks later...

US Cellular here (a lot of people around where I live are with USCC). I get 1000 anytime minutes and Unlimited Call Me minutes (free incoming :D ) for $39.95.

Cingular, with 450 daytime minutes per month. The rollover, free long distance and roaming, and free Cingular-to-Cingular calling are pretty sweet.

Orange Romania (www.orange.ro) - 180 min

Cosmote Romania (www.cosmote.ro) - 280 min

I'm using Virgin Mobile (Australia - see sixninedesign, some of us can actually vote in them :p). I'm not too sure about "weekday minutes" though, cos we use a different system here. I've got $29/month credit, whatever that translates to

Definitely Rogers, as Bell Canada's plans are too expensive for me! I pay about $37 CDN (per month) plus taxes for my plan, which includes unlimited Rogers-to-Rogers calling, 100 weekday minutes, 1 000 evening/weekend minutes, a voice mail package, and any necessary access fees.

But seriously, this poll needs to be severely modified in order to include Canadian, European, and Asian providers. Or better still, just have an open response thread instead.
