[Perl] I need help :'(

My perl script is erroring, but i don't know why because i keep just getting ****ty error 500's. I don't know whether it's the piece of **** server my company uses or if perl is really that useless for error messages.

How the hell do i get perl to give me it's own error messages?

While i'd still like an answer it's no longer terribly important, it turned out php was returning an error and perl didn't know how to handle it.

I use perl simply to bypass the retarded 2mb upload limit on our hosting. We're getting a dedicated server soon (they've been saying that for the last 2 months) so it's just a stop-gap solution anyway.
