BigCheese
Hi, I've just finished laying a new ethernet cable from my pc to my router. The problem is, I can't connect. If I have windows set to automatically assign an IP address, it just doesn't assign an Ip address. If I set a fixed IP address, it says the network is connected, but I still can't access the network, and in the status box, it shows only 12 packets recieved. It can't be a problem with the cable because I tried connecting my laptop instead, and that worked fine. I have tried everything I can think of, and nothing is working. Pleas help. My NIC is an SIS 900 onboard 10/100 ethernet controller and my router is a US Robotics USR8054 router. However I even tried another US Rbotoics PCI ethernet card, and that didn't work. EDIT: I forgot to add my NIC's MAC address to the list of allowed addresses on my router :pinch: Edited July 7, 2006 by BigCheese
