I think Zionism is a form or racism. even the UN does... On November 10, 1975 the United Nations General Assembly adopted, by a vote of 72 to 35 (with 32 abstentions), Resolution 3379, which stated that "Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination."

also please read the following article :

A century ago, zionism extended Western colonialism to Palestine; today, as in the rest of the world, colonialism must be ideologically purged from Palestine. I believe that zionism is racism, because 53 years after being exiled from their homeland, in defiance of the four Geneva Conventions, UN Resolutions 181, 194, 242, 338, and others, and other multilateral and international human rights conventions, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the disinherited refugees of Palestine, continue to endure merciless punishment from the Zionist entity, most recently in the bulldozing of makeshift homes in the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza.

I believe that zionism is racism, because I am a Palestinian, and without recognizing the colonialist component in zionism, I cannot explain its racist character, a western movement uprooting the native peoples of Palestine, Muslim, Christian, Jew, Samaritan alike, a people bound to their land, through centuries of raising orange groves, and herding sheep, lending grace to the Hills of God, historically, religiously and culturally.

I believe that zionism is racism, because it fails to appreciate or acknowledge the Palestinians' ties to their homeland, their love for their historical capital, Jerusalem, and the 53-yar plight they have endured as refugees worldwide, in Europe, in North America, in camps Dheishe, Shatila, Wehdaat and others, never giving up hope or struggle in yearning to return home.

I believe that zionism is racism, because it fails to admit the reality that the minority indigenous Jewish community in Palestine, that lived there for the last two thousand years, was an undistinguishable people from its Christian and Muslim Palestinian brethren, and that the leader of the Jewish community of the Jewish quarter of Old Jerusalem, Rabbi Lamram Blau, stood on the side of his Palestinian brothers and sisters being exiled in 1948.

I believe that zionism is racism because in modern times, the promise of liberal democracy and justice is a double-edged sword, preached by the Western powers, yet only paid lip-service to in the case of Israel, where Palestinian are continuously expelled, ethnically cleansed, and subjugated, and in the cases where they are assimilated, they are granted, limited, if any, civil rights.

I believe that zionism is racism, because in establishing the racially exclusive state of Israel, in 1948, and expelling the indigenous Palestinians from the land, the zionists severed a relationship that people had to the land for over 4,000 years, uninterrupted, since before Abraham.

I believe that zionism is racism, because in building Israel, the zionists were revising history, embracing the notion of racial superiority, an ideology that has empowered them to discriminate, with all of its associated social ills, injustices, and moral bankruptcy.

I believe that zionism is racism because it fails to distinguish between the nationalism of the American, based on multi-cultural harmony, and the racial exclusivity, separatism, ethnic cleansing, and brutality of zionism, that stands in clear violation of the most basic elements of international law and human rights practices, as most recently highlighted by reports issued by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

I believe that zionism is racism because in our world of post-modern identities, I know that we do not have to be "either-ors", we can be "ands and buts" ? a zionist and a settler, an American citizen of Polish heritage but a soldier in the Israeli army.

I believe that zionism is racism because it self-propagates itself as a democratic movement. However, a democracy, cannot, by definition, only be representative of one community in a bi-national and tri-religious contiguous geographic area. A democracy cannot exist for one people and not for another. This as called Apartheid in South Africa, and is now called zionism in Palestine.

I believe that zionism is racism, because it espouses an independent and sovereign Jewish state, in a land where there is no Jewish majority. It espouses that such a sovereign state be at peace and harmony with its neighbors without allowing the Palestinian refugees dwelling within their borders, who were expelled from their homes in Palestine by zionist militias, as is clearly documented by numerous sources including the memoirs of David-Ben Gurion himself, to return to their homes, which is a basic human right guaranteed by Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I believe that zionism is racism because it is presented by its champions, from Gil Troy to Elie Wiesel, as a romantic movement, which allowed zionists to reclaim the desert and build a model nation-state. This is racism at its most acute, since there was no desert in Palestine, other than the Negev in the South. This is simply a myth that has been propagated by racists who have supported Israel for the last 53 years, and economic data on agricultural exports to Europe from Palestine dating to medieval times easily rejects and exposes this as a blasphemous claim.

Yes, it sounds far-fetched today. But as Vladamir Jabotinsky, father of revisionist zionism said in a racist boast in 1923, "There can be no discussion of a voluntary reconciliation between us and the Arabs? Any native people?view their country as their national home? They will not voluntarily allow, not only a new master, but even a new partner? Colonization can have only one goal. For the Palestinian Arabs this goal is inadmissible. This is in the nature of things. To change that nature is impossible? colonization can, therefore, continue and develop only under the protection of a force independent of the local population - an iron wall which the native population cannot break through. This is, in toto, our policy towards the Arabs. To formulate it any other way would only be hypocrisy."

The dictionary definition is:

an international movement originally for the establishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel

That definition in itself is not racist. In an ideal world, Jews and Palestinians could live alongside each other in peace and harmony.

Zionism is not recism. fred666 posted it before me. Zionism, itself is a conecept, an idea. saying it is racist is equivalent to saying Communism is Racist.

Neither are. Point two. If it were racism, why not simply say racism? why? because its a different word with a different meaning thats why.

following math's principles

1=1

never 1=2.

simple. its (debatable) the effects of zionism that create racial tensions and acts of racism.

Plus the repitition is annoying at the begining of every new paragraph.

Based on the previously-noted posts from ranasrule and his political leaning (radical Islam), I for one would like to see this thread closed/deleted/purged and a warning send to ranasrule against posting other such anti-Israeli posts here.

Heaven help me if I ever posted that Muslims worship a false God or that anti-Zionist were racist.

I don't see Zionism as being racist, though I disagree with the foundation of modern Israel and anyone that supports its abhorrent behaviour.

Is he not allowed to express that opinion? He has displayed no hatred towards others, just expressed a dislike of Israel and a support of Islam... nothing wrong with that.

I typical question from a muslim.

The U.N. spouts many things that are not true. Just because they say it is racist does not mean much.

Some say islam is a satanic cult, does that make it true?

I think this religious bashing is getting a bit out of hand, and silly things start to happen. Perhaps the neowin administration can think of a remedy?

And for those that do not understand my previous post, it is a direct response to ranasrules use of outdated information concerning zionism and the u.n. One of his main supporting arguments...has just been: disqualified.

Israel made revocation of resolution 3379 a condition of its participation in the Madrid Peace Conference, in progress in the last quarter of 1991. Under pressure from the administration of President George H.W. Bush in the United States, the UN passed the resolution. The text of the revocation was simply:

"The general assembly decides to revoke the determination contained in its resolution 3379 (XXX) of 10 November 1975."

hence it was not revooked because the world suddenly thought zionism wasnt racism but for the sake of peace !!!

Zionism, in the sense that it advocates the creation of a Jewish state, by definition must be discrimination in some form. Whether you would technically consider it 'racism' as opposed to some other 'ism' is another arguement, but it's pretty difficult to claim that it is not, ultimately, discrimination, and that applies both to the theory and the practice. Israel is not, and has never aimed to be, a nation based on merit, due process, or other equal treatment under the law. In that sense it's no worse than any other nation in that region of the world, but that doesn't change what it is.

I think zionism is racism because it advocates that the region of Israel/Palestine should be entirely given to Israel, which is in itself giving a different status to two nations, making it unequal to both parties and favouring Israel over Palestine.

Zionism is not Racism.

1st, Zion is another word for Jerusalem.

2nd Zionist is someone who want to live in israel, the land of zion.

3rd, Zionist is what you refering as israeli- which is not correct.

4th, nobody is actually called here a Zionist, but Israelis. it is only Arabs who use it.

5th, as i said in number of my posts, Zionism is dead. at least a decade. maybe before the birth of israel people called for themself Zionists, because they couldn't be could israelis.

6th, Zionism is by jews for jews, after an understanding that nobody will help you and you must help yourself.

What does it matter how the resolution was revoked? Your sole credible evidence to support your opinion was the UN resolution. By saying 'the world', I'm assuming you are meaning the Palistinians. Outside of them, you have no proof to back up your claim that the entire world thinks zionism is racism. The fact of the matter is that the UN doesn't even consider Zionism to be a form of racism. It's safe to conclude that this thread is just another attempt by you to spread hate.

Zionism, in the sense that it advocates the creation of a Jewish state, by definition must be discrimination in some form. Honestly, your post makes no sense. How does wanting your own country equate to racism? How does wanting rights equal hate? Easy, it doesn't. They have nothing to do with each other, and it's irrational to think otherwise. To think you have half a clue what Israel aims to be as a nation is silly. You are trying to insert your opinion as fact where there is no basis for it.

Honestly, your post makes no sense. How does wanting your own country equate to racism?

Um, well... when you want a country designed specifically for your own race* to the exclusion of all others and that country goes out of its way to give special treatment to that same race... that's how.

How does wanting rights equal hate? Easy, it doesn't.

Well, yeah, straw-man arguements do generally have easy answers.

To think you have half a clue what Israel aims to be as a nation is silly. You are trying to insert your opinion as fact where there is no basis for it.

Do you know anything about Israel? Do you know that, for example, immigrant Jews are given automatic citizenship by law? Don't you sit there and try to tell me that it's just my opinion that that's discriminatory. That's horse ****.

Israel as a state is the very picture of discrimination. Nothing that goes on in that country occurs without consideration of race, religion, or sex. Immigration, education, land ownership, driving privileges, marriage, military service, everything is different depending on whether or not you're a Jew. None of it is based on due process or equal treatment, it's all based on race and religion, and that is an irrefutable fact.

* Assuming for brevity here that Jews constitute a race.

That little bolded part just blew everything up. "Jews" are a nationality or a religion, not a race. You can be jewish like you can be Irish or like you can be Catholic.

If automatically granting a person of Irish decent citizenship of Ireland is recist, then yes it is. But I do not believe it is.

UN does not equal the world, so don't refer to it as so, can you prove that the world thought zionism was racism? I don't think so, and including this thing isn't helping your cause, whatever it may be. It was silly to pass such a thing in the first place. And Canada was a large factor in getting this vote removed. Posting something like this as support for your argument in your first post is misleading, because the information is no longer valid, regardless of how you describe its removal. I pity you for trying to defend yourself after being proved wrong.

And being a devoted follower of Islam, my brother, I offer you this from the word of Allah:

"O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed wrong doers" (Quran 49:11)."

Let us bring peace to each other. Salam
