_I am Reptar
It's an amazing little extension, can't download without it.
HoochieMamma
The "pause" is actually just downloading at a slower speed. It doesn't actually stop downloading like how opera or flashget does it. For example, you cannot pause a download in firefox, close the browser, and resume the download. Ahh cool, didn't know that. I know that you cannot close the browser and re-open it again. But as for the slow download, that's interesting.
AimLXJ
Seems downthemall works great from all the comment, but before I try it...does anyone else has more opinions on its performance? Thanks! IMO its useless, might as well use the default

Plarkster
I think its fine but tend to use downthemall. The thing that bugs me is that the 'Do this automatically for files like this from now on' option doesn't work as I have to click ok everytime I download a file, even though the action I want is selected. Plus I can't edit the actions in the options are there are no actions listed. Anyone come across this?

canuckerfan
yea, the native download manager stinks. pause function has never worked for me. it seems so "backward" compared to all the other progressive features of firefox. maybe improvements will be made by 3.0... hopefully. This is a known Firefox bug: Bug 331259 ? checking "do this automatically for files like this from now on" doesn't have any effect on future downloads of same file type I suggest people get over there and vote to get it fixed. No that is for the new download manager in Firefox 3.0 not the one in 2.0. BTW I think the download manager is great....in 3.0!:):)
johanges
No that is for the new download manager in Firefox 3.0 not the one in 2.0. What makes you think that??? This bug was opened in 2006-03-21 for Firefox 1.5.0.1 and haven't been fixed since.

stockwiz
I use downthemall combined with linkification for most of my mass downloading.. links that are put into code brackets are turned into links which I can then manually select with the downthemall extension for easy queuing and downloading.
