bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 5, 2002 Veteran Share Posted November 5, 2002 I reported this over at Geeknewz.com a while back and saw it originally on betanews: AOL released a new BETA of AOL 8.0 to a few testers and have added in the ability to add ICQ numbers to your buddy list, however communication is not yet functional until a new version of ICQ is release. Also, it seems this interoperability was also built into the latest AIM client. If you attempt to add an ICQ number to your buddy list in AIM, it then identifies the number as an ICQ number and asks you toassign the user a nickname. However, similar to AOL 8.0, communication between the two clients is still not working. http://www.geeknewz.com/comments.php?id=19...1&highlight=aim

bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 5, 2002 Veteran Share Posted November 5, 2002 One WORD... Trillian (Any Version!) Some people, like me, don't like trillian because it has so many features but lacks some very basic ones like html in AIM profiles as far as I know the font you choose to view messages in is the font you see when other people send, you don't get to see the font they chose on their end, although that part may be wrong in more current versions. Either way, I have a good machine so I don't have to worry about resources and I tend to like the AIM client. It's simple and has the features I need.
