Draconian Guppy
nikon d50 vote here... although the pentax *ist DL and DS are really cheap around $400 with kit lens...
Pink Floyd Veteran Posted August 18, 2006 Veteran Share Posted August 18, 2006 what? Do you expect me to say Canon rebel XT? :p Whatever between the D50 and Rebel XT mate. They are both awesome
Draconian Guppy
what? Do you expect me to say Canon rebel XT? :p Whatever between the D50 and Rebel XT mate. They are both awesome Traitor to your sig !!! LOL Well, Like I said in my first post, d50, however pentax *ist series is cheap right now or their new k100 is also very good or so reviews say( just pointing out every option) Nikon and canon both use propierty batteries pentax uses AA They all have their pros and cons, for example a lot of people praise pentax's large viewfinder, others say their kit lens are cr*p, compared to nikon kit lens that i've read are quite good... In the end, it's what you prefer/like better. To sum up, you should look into Nikon D50, Canon Rebel XT, Pentax K110D ( or K series), Samsung GX-1S ( "revamped" *ist series). Pink Floyd Veteran Posted August 19, 2006 Veteran Share Posted August 19, 2006 And Dave, I'l.l tell you what I tell to anybody, "just try them in your hand" Shoot with them in the store. Many many ppl don't like Rebel XT because of the size. Unless you have small hands, you probably won't like the feeling in your hand

Same for me :yes:I hesitated for such long time between Nikon and Canon, then Decided to go with Nikon with the D50 over D70s for many reasons. Now it's personnal preferences IMO

Syxxpacc
Damn, another one on the dark side :p well just so u would be happy :p i went with the canon just because it felt better in my hand than the nikon ones, i love the nikon lenses but imo the most important thing when buying a dslr is to get a camera that fits perfectly into your hands :p and i got big hands and somehow i like the way the 350d sits there :)

But whatever ifyou like it, that is what is important! Also, optical is more important than the body imo. Again, this is just my opinion :)
