Need Bios Master Password

Recommended Posts

why exactly are you trying to break into the BIOS of a school computer? sounds a little shady to me...unless of course, you work for the school as an admin or something.

if its doesn't have a lock on it...just pop the top, theres usually one jumper by itself on the dells like jumper 11 or 13 or something. its usually next to where the LEDs plug in etc. pop it off, boot up, shut down the pc, put it back on and voila...no more password.

however, once you clear the passwork its not going to ask for it again, so if your school tracks logins blah blah blah, they'll see you are the last one to log in...not a good thing when you just hacked up their box. you'll also want to clear the "case previously opened" message in the bios when you are done.

what do you want to enable in the bios anyways?   you cant overclock those things and there are not that many options

I wanted to change the boot sequence so that it would boot from the floppy drive. I was watching The Screen Savers a while back and I remember them mentioning that Dell,Gateway,Compaq...etc, have backdoor passwords to the bios'.

but why? please answer the question, because i dont want to close this thread if you have a legitimate reason and you're not trying to hack the PC

What is so important about booting to the floppy??

My teacher has two computers in his room, and he wants to keep one as a standalone. We are going to use the boot disk to wipe the HD clean, and reinstall an OS. As it is right now, it boots from the hard drive, and won't boot from any cd's or floppies. As far as doing anything hardware-wise, it's out of the question (I wouldn't want to break the computer).

if your "teacher" needs to get into the bios and doesn't know the password, then you should have the ability to read the manual and find out how to reset the bios, or call the company he purchased from for a solution.

I'm too shaddy to give you an answer here, because how do i know, if you really do have a "teacher" or are just trying to break into someones computer. :)

lol these emoticons are hysterical

why dosen't your 'teacher' contact the person/people who put the pc's in the classroom in the first place to get the bios password?

Sounds like someone is trying to break in to their teachers computer and change his grades possibly? The odds are this guy wont open the case because of an alarm feature? Either that or the case has a lock on it. HMMMMM

But I dont see why the teacher cant access the pw anyhoo.

Sounds SHADY :ninja:

You must use the stealth my son

correct freeza.

Gents, this guy has come for an answer, not to be told to f off.

As said in one of the posts above- you need to reset the password by moving the jumpers about- the manual will show you how to do this, some cases have a sticker on the inside telling you which ones to pull.

Equally- try google to grab an answer- tho i doubt most companies would be silly enough just to give the pw away if there was one- there wouldnt really be much point in passwording you bios then would there ;)

The computers were setup by the technicians we have at the school, but they lock the bios for security reasons (they dont want students messing with it). However, they do not tell the teachers the passwords. And believe me, if I wanted to get information off that computer, I could do it VERY easily. The ONLY reason i'm trying to get a backdoor BIOS password is so I can change the boot sequence, then boot off a cd-rom or floppy, wipe the hard drive, and install a new OS, keeping it seprate from the school network.

He submitted a request for tech support, but that was a week ago. He knows i'm very knowledgeable about computers, and asked for my help.

Haha, like I need to change my grades in that class :D. All we are trying to do is to change the boot sequence so that it will boot from a CD-ROM or a floppy, so we can wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS without the novell netware, thus keeping the computer seperate from the school network.
you guys are cruel lol

Yeah, well, this is an odd request...I don't blame em'

If I remember correctly you can re-install w2k/xp right from the cd (you can't format the hd though). Just login as an 'administrator' priv account, insert the cd and if autorun is enable you will get the setup spash screen....

on a side note, can't you remove the novell client software?

To remove the Novell Client you must use the Networks control panel, not the Add/Remove programs control panel, just in case anyone was wondering.
