Someone has to ask: any news about the key? Does the BETA2 still work?

"you must generate a new key" from what it tells me

Don't believe everything you read on the web ... just wait till rtm

I'm not sure you understand the concept of a release candidate.

It's not really a REAL RC as we all know Microsoft would never think about releasing this particular build as RTM.

5536 took 20 minutes to install here, and nother 5 until I was already in control of my desktop (those 5 additional minutes it was doing some performance checks). It was pretty nice. The install is very "unatended". You put the key, and 20 minutes later it's already booting

No it doesn't...

You should use your same key(s) from previous releases. To generate a new key, please request from key package ?5342 and Up ? Ultimate? and ?Beta 2 Home Basic/Home Premium/Business (v.5384)?.

Why call it RC1 then? Anyway I really do not believe that they are hiding some secret GUI that they're not going to unveil until it hits the store shelves. That would be crazy, things like that have to be tested. This is what we're getting, everyone should just accept it. They didn't do all this work on the current theme for no reason.

The UI improvements that were stated earlier are probably just little tweaks that they have been doing all along anyway.

Upgrade or full install. And it still doesn't include the Performance Test (which took several minutes on Pre-RC1).

hmm, that's weird. You should be able to use each key up to 5 times per build. I hope I don't run into this problem, as I've already generated all I can for the current set of keys...
