bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 8, 2002 Veteran Share Posted November 8, 2002 (edited) A new version of Avant Browser has been released. For those of you who do not know what Avant Browser is, it uses the IE engine to render pages while offering other features such as a built in pop-up blocker and tabbed browsing, providing a more friendly, useable interface for browsing the web. What's New: -Multi-Language Interface, Now support Chinese, Norwegian and Swedish. -Movable System Buttons -Lots of mirror improvements. bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 8, 2002 Author Veteran Share Posted November 8, 2002 I haven't used MyIE2 but the interface is definitely much nice looking at least and as far as I can tell, Avant Browser has more features.

OPaul
Well I downloaded Avent Browser to give it a shot and I really wasn't very impressed. First I tested the memory usage out. Tested on a WinXP box. Avent Browser On Open 9,752 K 1 Page 16,588 K 14 Pages 40,216 K 60 - 70 threads 14 Pages minimized 40,216 K 0 threads MyIE2 On Open 9,960 K 1 Page 15,252 K 14 Pages 28,524 K 0 threads 14 Pages minimized 2,336 K 0 threads Exact same pages measured once all pages on completely loaded. Also MyIE2 loads a lot faster. As far as features go I can't find anything useful that Avent Browser has the MyIE2 doesn't. Are there any? I'm not trying to make Avent Browser seem obsolete, if you?re into that kind of thing go with it, but imy opinionb> MyIE2 is a lot better.
