Xbox 360 HDMI Cable?

Recommended Posts

Not that it really matters, but supposedly GameStop will be selling a "Universal Premium HDMI Cable". It's probably more of a converter than anything else, but I'm not really savvy in the cable department. ;) Make of it what you will...

$100? A little bit too pricey (actually, a hell of a too pricey), but like you said, its probably more of a converter than a cable itself.

The choice is between an HDMI cable or the Wireless Adapter... I think I'll go with the Wireless Adapater.

its actually not that pricey.... if you buy a Monster or another big name cable company HDMI cable you will also be paying the $100 price tag.... of course there are the alternatives for a much cheaper price...

if you were wonderign, the mini usb is what it connects to the 360 with, the 2 usb`s are a bit like a usb hub built in, for more devices to piggy back.

That's so you can snap a wireless USB adapter to the back since the USB port on the back of the 360 will be taken by the HD-DVD drive.

Edit: Took me forever, but I found a pic.

Regardless, when it comes to cables you generally get what you pay for. You'd never (I hope) keep those generic speaker wires that came with your system, you go out and spend x amount to improve your sound experience. Thus it makes sense for your HDTV viewing too, I would assume...?

I asked the Microsoft rep when she came to my EB Games location a couple weeks ago about an HDMI cable to go with the HD-DVD drive, and she said that she didn't think that there would be any way that it wouldn't have one, but she said she'd double-check and get back to me. Still waiting for that, so we'll see.

I also asked about Zune-360 compatibility, so hopefully I'll get some info on that as well.

If anyone reads OXM in the UK, there was a Xbox 360 "handbook" which came with July's magazine (I think, may have been June's). But if anyone read through the handbook, there was comments Microsoft is working on an HDMI cable :)

Who knows the status of it now though, if it has gone ahead at all...

Care to shed some light on this Spartan_X ? :p :shifty:
