I agree with some of the above such as the NHS and some taxes, but seriously, a lot of that you really need to think more logically about such as fuel prices, education, war and rebates to say the least. It's easy to reel of a few sentences like that and covering amazingly complex topics with one line, but obviously you know it's not that simple.

He won't be going tonight.

The National Health Service is for this nation not for all n sundry to roll in and use it.

Our army is designed to protect our shores, not go invading other countries.

I use fuel for my home, lawn mower and strimmer, they have gone up 66% under this government.

Educational standards have fallen since I took A-levels, my A, D, D, D would have got me 4 A +++++ under this government. More kids, infact 25% of all school leavers are illiterate.

There are 7,000,000 illiterate adults in England and Wales.

Bliar will be gone tonight. If he isn't gone hell will freeze over.

I have lived under Labour governments in the 70's and 90's they are bad governments, they are run by communists, socialists and people with chips on their shoulders.

Bliar was in the conservative party up untill he left knowing he was going nowhere so he joined the Labour party, that says it all, he does not run the country on labour policies just ones he found on the back of disgarded *** packets.

Margaret Thatcher was the best PM!

In my lifetime she was.

If the conservatives want to win the next election they need a leader like her and Anne Widdecombe is the lady:

ann_widdecombe_230702.jpg

She is a real fiesty bint and wears steel toe capped DM's.

7 junior ministers have now quit...be more soon.

I'm only 16, and so can't vote atm, and do't have many political opinions atm. But I will post what I think about this:

IMHO, Blair staying IS doing damage to the labour party. To me, he's appearing as someone who is clinging on by the skin of his teeth.

And I hope he does quit soon, as all would happen i he doesn't, is a conservative goverment would win the elections. After seeing my area (Rhonnda valleys) decline under the previous conservative goverment, and slighty improve under labour, atm, I'm hoping blair doesn't hurt labour too much, as I would hate to see this are fall back into the state as it was before.

That is my opinion though, and would love to be proved wrong.

Blair should go now, no leader has ever stepped down voluntarily except for Harold Wilson you should never anounce that you are going to step down at a given time table as it makes you look week. I wouldn't be suprised if he leaves now well hopefully the Labour party will collapse and once again the true party of Britain will lead the way.

David Cameron will take back the country and hopefully end the days of Champange Socialist hand outs of benifits to people who are able to work and just sit there and smoke and watch Sky all day in their council house. Sort out all the illegal imigrants and kick them out back to where they deserve to be the ones who come over here to just get money, use our services and not pay tax. The political corectness which has destroyed normal peoples lives. Blair has destroyed our military, cut backs, taxing troops while on tour (one of the only nations that does) and not increased the military budget we are still spending only the same ammount as in 1991 the same amount that was on the NHS and that budget has rapidly increased. The fact that 29% goes on to benifits and 'social security' going to people who don't need it.

Lib Dem's will never win they are bunch of Guardian reading alcoholics who seem to like to bat for the other team which means no one will vote for them. Tax's are bad as well all these stealth taxes, inheritance tax is a good example of how much that is affecting the middle classes. New Labour's spin and sleaze of just using the good old back in 1997 everything was soooo bad, well it wasn't it was better then!

Heres a good figure from the Private Eye:

Blairs popularity rating recently: 30%

John Majors rating in the last 3 months of 1997 before the election: 32%

My community tax has risen since he took over and remember when he took over he got 65,000,000,000 credit from the bank of England which the conservatives had raised ready for their new term if they won, now Bliar is that amount in debt. My community tax has risen 79%.

Crime has increased 10 fold, stabbings and gun crime 50 fold, they seem to throw money at situations instead of employing people that can do the job correctly under good house keeping rules.

Fuel prices have increased, rents have increased far too high, house prices have gone up far to much.

As for those points above you made, crime, stabbings, gun crime, are pretty much all drug related or atleast have increased due to drugs and alcohol in one way or another, if crime goes up the police need more money to combat it and the NHS is put under more strain because of it, beleive me, theres enough thieving smack heads around here to know what i'm talking about, anyway my point is comunity tax, council tax, whatever you want to call it has 'partly' increased because of that.

As for fuel prices, you seem to think it's only happened here, fuel prices have gone up 'WORLD WIDE' how can you blame Blair for that.

leesmithg, I said that I agreed with some of what you said for example the NHS but to be honest I'll take the rest with a pinch of salt unless for now you can come up with recent and reliable sources. I'm not saying you are lying, just would be interested to see the methods used in calculating those stats.

One minute you say that Labour is run by communists and are bad etc, then you go on to say that Blair joining Labour from from the Conservatives says it all and that their policies are rubbish, despite them not being Labour policies according to you. I don't understand your point?

It's clear you are very dissatisfied with the current way the country is run at the moment, so what do you suggest is the best solution to the issues with the current options available?

I would like things to be done properly.

Not having to get together a commitee to create a commitee to sort out a commitee to implement a policy or law.

Then have a bunch of bogus unelected schmucks that vote labour in the house of lords over rule it.

I will give you a couple of suggestions apart from the obvious ones.

Life means life

Locally elected judges and magistrates

More prisons

Bring back the death penalty

Public birching of low rate crimes on thugs and hooligans

No council houses for teenage girls

No social security unless you've paid in enough contributions

Maximum of 7 years of claims

Get rid of plastic PC's

More coppers on the beat, no midgets or birds just 6'2'' brick sheet house blokes that wear size 12 boots.

2 week asylum decisions, if you fail you're gone that day, no appeals no diddly.

Filter out poor teachers

Give the rules of the classroom back to the schools and LEA

You get time added onto your sentence if you misbehave

Ban smoking in prisons

Drug dealers get hung

Burgulars get minimum of 25 years

Turn prisons into a place of fear 10 to a cell, bread and water for dinner etc.

Send prisoners off to an eastern block country to serve their sentence if they reoffend

Make the criminal pay for the cost of their sentence, remove all their savings and valuables to at least recover some of the costs.

You need a v.i.s.a. to visit the UK.

You have a problem with British people, our life style and culture then fob off to whence you came or where you would like to live under a culture you want

I could go on and on.

Don't say we can't make em work, thats why we vote for people to represent us not the other way around.

ranasrule he was always a smarmy greasy git sans backbone.

leesmithg, don't take this the wrong way - but you talk as though you get all your political information from The Sun, well known for it's sensationalist BS and twisting of the truth, anything to sell newspapers.

I think you blame the government for too much to be honest. How can they stop fuel prices rising? With the law a la communist state? They are not miracle workers.

Obviously I do realise they have seriously mismanaged our money and I have said before I want to see them go.

There have always been lazy gits on benefits. It just so happens that labour has failed to stop this, just like every other government.

As for the housing market - what has that got to do wth the government?

It's the very nature of capitalism and free markets - prices go up and down with demand etc. You want it regulated, go to a communist society - the Conservatives aren't likely to do it for you. As for the shortage - buildings are going up all over the place.

Perhaps the government should have more council housing built, and more housing designed for those on lower incomes (instead of all this 'luxury' crap for the rich only). Unless rules are changed, it won't help those with white skin and no children.

As for Cameron, he's another Bliar. He's going around promising the Moon to everyone. More lies. The Conservatives are not for the working class, that is well known, consider us screwed.

At the end of the day politicians are all the same - backstabbing liars who'd sell their granny for power.

.

Don't insult me to think I read tabloid newspapers.

I don't read national newspapers, I go on information I get from other sources.

My opinions are varied and of my thought.

If you read the sun thats upto you.

You ask about the housing market, there are single people and couples retired no children living in 3,4, 5 bedroom properties under council control or housing association, half my street is like this, my mother lives on her own in a HA house that is 4 bedrooms.

There are currently 2,000,000 empty 2,3,4,5 bedroom houses that could be for families, empty.

Due to lack of accommodation prices rise, bring in a law so that they can fix up old properties and remove people from properties to 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom properties.

There should be laws against people buying up more than 1 property as a second home.

There are villages and towns now half empty as those born and bred there cannot buy their own homes.

Margaret Thatcher was the best PM!

QFT. Bear in mind I am middle-upper class, from a wealthy law-abiding background, and my father worked his way from nothing to where he is today. It was the Thatcher era of mega-capitalism that made me, and I support it!

As I see it, her era was encouraging to people who wanted to achieve, make something of their lives.

There should be laws against people buying up more than 1 property as a second home.

Screw that. If my parents (and in a year or so - me) choose to buy various other properties, who is to stop us. We earn our incomes and can spend it as we see fit. Sorry but the views and suggestions you posted would sit VERY well in the sun!

As for Cameron, he's another Bliar.

The problem with Cameron is that he is a hollow clone - he doen't have the personality or charisma and is terrible at manipulating the press. I was hopeful he'd be a good leader but so far he hasn't show that. I want the Conservatives to win at the next election but, after New Labour, I'd be just as happy the the BNP or some other extremist fringe group. The last thing I want is for New Labour to continue under Gordon Brown.

Screw that. If my parents (and in a year or so - me) choose to buy various other properties, who is to stop us. We earn our incomes and can spend it as we see fit.

It's an interesting subject. At the least it should be regulated as second/holiday homes can damage local economies because they sit empty for the majority of the year. So whilst I think it should be allowed I do think it could be done in a better way.

Also, I want to add that I feel that Major was a good PM, just not a dynamic PM. He achieved quite a bit, but never really shouted his cause.

No, I personally wish Portillo or Hesseltine were still active!

The problem was that he seriously damaged the credibility of the Conservative party. So, whilst he might not have done much wrong during his leadership he was pretty disasterous in the long term.
