temple_treefrog
I've got some videos that play back fine on my old Windows system (which use the FFDShow codec). I've installed the original DivX codec however the videos play back in QuickTime with very choppy quality. Is there a fix for this or can I download FFDShow for Mac? Lingwo
Download VLC that plays pretty much any video format fine. I couldn't find a mac version of FFDShow so i use VLC. It is a universal binary which is nice.
giga Veteran Posted October 2, 2006 Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2006 The original divx codec isn't that great for QT. There are some alternatives out there that might work better. You can try this: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?sto...030825045710515 (especially for xvid) You can also try Perian: http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/30/perian-play...ktime-for-free/ Or VLC. Quactaur
Perian is the equivalent of FFDshow for osx. It even plays .flv in frontrow. Along with the free flip4mac and ac53 sound codec which its own site links to, you can play just about anything.
