mikejd1
Is there a way to revert back to the old 2000 search in windows? I cant stand the load time and the dog in XP. Anyone?
hurting101
You can with TweakUI XP under Explorer > Use Classic Search That removes the dog and some of the attempts at "user friendliness". But it still doesn't search very fast... even with indexing. I use pdfind.exe ("File Finder") to search for stuff; it's alot faster, has more filters, and is freeware *. Sadly, it seems this program has vanished from the internet, but I can email you it if you want. * Actually, one quickview feature is disabled, but chances are you won't come across it if you're just using it to search, anyway... I8PP
you can get rid of the dog (though i happen to change it to Rocky from Office :D ) when you first load up Search, click "Change Preferences" at the bottom of the bubble, then click "Without an animated screen character"
