JoDaddy
Hey guys, I have always had issues with AutoComplete in IE7 - basically, it doesn't work at all. I thought this might just be a beta issue, since it works great in IE6, but it's still not working. I have tried the knowledge base registry edit (even though I'm using Win XP Pro), but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? The Windows Live toolbar works, but doesn't seem to work great when I have multiple logins.
+allan MVC Posted October 24, 2006 MVC Share Posted October 24, 2006 May I assume you've checked the settings in Internet Options (Content Tab - Auto Complete Settings)?
JoDaddy
Yes. It seems the problem is that the drop down box just never shows.
+allan MVC Posted October 24, 2006 MVC Share Posted October 24, 2006 Check the ADVANCED Tab in Internet Options and make sure "Use Inline AutoComplete" is checked.
JoDaddy
It is, but I belive inline is for addresses only, not forms.
+allan MVC Posted October 24, 2006 MVC Share Posted October 24, 2006 Sorry - but how was I to know you were talking about forms?
JoDaddy
Well I did mention logins, but my post could have been vague. Sorry about that. I have also posted on the IE newsgroup, but I don't think they have a solution, either. :-(
sonnvl
My AutoComplete also has the same error. When I check AutoComplete Forms/Usernames & passwords on forms (Internet Options/Content tab), when I click on the form -> My computer restarts suddenly! But when I uncheck them -> No problems I try to delete form data (Internet Options/General tab/ Delete Browsing History) but my computer restarts suddenly while deleting! Little Pretty One
Hi everyone. I realize this topic is VERY old, but I have been having this issue with IE 7 since installation (2 months ago) and have been searching for the answer since then to this very issue. I did a google search today, and this link was the first one to come up. Allan's answer fixed it immediately. I just wanted to let him/her know that I appreciate the help :) Thank you all, Duchess
JoDaddy
Hey guys, I know this is VERY OLD, BUT I found a fix that worked for me. It requires a registry edit, and I found it (finally!) on the MS IE newsgroup. Someone with the name peng suggested editing this in the registry: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel] "FormSuggest Passwords"=dword:00000001 "FormSuggest"=dword:00000001 And presto, it worked. I've no idea why this worked, and check the options didn't...but if you're having this issue, here's how to fix it :)
