Whatever you do don't get a fan, at least one of them is known to **** up 360 consoles...

I just did some research :pats own back: and the one that mostly effs up 360s is the "Nyko Intercooler" because "the Intercooler steals some of the power originating from the supply, decreasing the joules the console actually receives to inadequate levels." A "Microsoft representative suggested the Pelican Fan Stand, whose power comes from a USB input." (source)

So, I'm getting the Pelican Fan Stand. :yayness:

Thanks for warning me about the fan! :snaps fingers, clicks tongue and points at you:

I don't get that crap about the Nyko Intercooler. Before I bought it the 360 froze every day, after I bought it my 360 hasn't frozen in 6 months.

*shrugs*

It's worked wonders for me!

Just beat act 3. It was kinda getting boring underground, but the new weapon should help out. Its good to be outside again for act 4. I like the architecture in the buildings. Couldn't use the chainsaw much in act 3, either.

Heh...just got there today

General RAAM took me a friggin hour and a half to beat. You are doing it correctly, you just have to keep shooting him. A good idea is just to stay crouched behind something the the concrete block you start behind. Don't worry when he sends Krill at you - you are in light - just concentrate on getting as many sniper shots as you can. Once he gets close to you, run your ass to the other side of the car so you have room to snipe. It just takes persistance.

Or you guys can do it the smart way and.......

You guys find a way to run behind raam after he comes at you and behind him you should start seeing a torika or whatever.. .A turret machine gun and mess him up easily.

Took me 10 minutes to figure it out.

You have to be careful when doing that.

When you enter the turrent you'll be in the darkness thus vulnerable to those flying creatures. So you have to make sure they have exited from his body the moment you start firing with the turrent and you should be able to take him down.

You don't need a fan, if you're having heat issues, get a better spot for your console or call up Microsoft.

You're right, Mag. I bought the Pelican fan & my Xbox still froze. I'm going to call MS and ask them to help me w/ my situation. I've tried all of the troubleshooting things I've read on the Xbox.com site to fix this problem. :sigh:

Sure son, except I went to the troika on my second try against him, and got completely railed by Krill. That kept happening so I stopped trying that idea.

So I played some multiplayer finally. I couldn't connect at all to any ranked games, but I got in easily to a player match, and it was a ton of fun. I played 2 matches on Warzone and ended up 2nd in points in both matches (1st on my team, but we didn't win either match :( ). It's so much fun.

yeah with ranked matches, the only ones i can ever join are in custom and are 1-4 players , anymore and i dont connect. But player matches always work. Hopefully they get that fixed

I just got GoW today. A little late, eh? Woke up at like 9 and my dad took me to Toys 'R Us.

The game so far is everything I've expected. The game looks amazing and without the HUD it really does have that cinematic feel that Epic was going for. It's taken a while to get used to though.

EDIT: I just almost crapped myself when trying to run from the Berzerker. Thanks Spencer for the heads up.

Just finished Act 4 on Hardcore... Can't wait till Act 5 :D

Act 5 is total insanity, especially on Hardcore.

Be sure to get a pretty powerful gun to beat General RAAM. It helps a lot.

Holy cow! This game is so intense.

The graphics during the game and "cinematics" are just outstanding. I had no idea the xbox 360 was capable of this level of detail.

The load times are REALLY short too. Has anyone else noticed that there is hardly any load time?

I wish Oblivion had shorter load times. I wonder how Epic made their load times so efficient w/o sacrificing fps.

So far my word for the game is: incredible. If you have an XBox 360 then you need to get this game! My last favorite action shooters were Half Life 2 and Quake 4 (in that order), and this game rapes them easily.

Yea, I'm having problems connecting to some servers as well. Not to mention the mic-bug where certain players can't hear others. I'm sure a patch/fix is in the works by now.

I'm having the same problem here. I'm also getting disconnected from the host more often then I'd like...not sure if the host is just leaving the game, or if it is a connectivity issue.

I put my XBox 360 on a static IP address and then placed it in the DMZ of my router and I think it may have helped. Although, I may have just had better luck in the past couple of matches.

For random matches, I'd prefer not to hear the relentless banter of some knuckle heads. Some people won't shut up.

Finally got it, and it's great. It's pretty hard (and easy to die -- on hardcore at least), but I don't bother it as much as in some other games for some reason. Only played one short multiplayer match... not a huge fan, but still fairly good.

I don't have an X-Box 360, so my buddy and I are playing through it on Co-op at his house (Hardcore skill). We've only played for about three hours so far, but we both agreed that it lives up to the hype. It took some getting used to in the beginning - mainly with moving between cover and such. Once we got the hang of it though, it was amazing. Even when we had to repeat battles, it didn't matter, because they were so damn fun the first time around.

I like how the enemies have a really good feeling of weight to them. I sniped a locust drone as he was jumping over a cover point, and the way he fell was just awesome.

Only gripe thus far is the grenades. The aiming arc is really strange, and parts of the arc tend to go off-screen when I try to aim high (again, this being split screen). On top of that, they just don't seem very powerful, although maybe I just suck with them.

As soon as this semester ends, I'm getting a 360 for this game, even if I have to shoulder the entire cost myself :)

Lol, I'm playing coop on hardcore and we're breezing through. I finished the game with him on casual within like 6 hours of when I bought it at 9 AM this morning. Now we're on Act 3 and will continue tomorrow.

The only difference I see between casual and hardcore is that it takes longer to kill the enemies.

Maybe a can win another surround sound system! Lol, Digital Dolbe 10.1 Surround Sound.
