TokyoKiller
I just noticed at EB's site that they have the X360 HDDVD drive for $199, what kind of a crazy price is that? Seriously. Makes buying a PS3 at it's retail price more than just worth it :o. I wish they would just add HDDVD into the system one day... :pinch:
spenser.d
Been under a rock the last 2 months? :p That price has been known for a while. The point of it is the 360 wasn't made for HDDVD, but it can do it, and you can now buy this add-on for far less than you can buy a standalone for. -Spenser
SnowRanger13
Yeah I agree the price is a lot. Apparently because Xbox360 has no HDDVD decoder chip it has to be done all though the CPU and I heard it works Xbox360 harder then even Gears of War :p. It's not that bad though if you already have a Xbox360 it's a lot cheaper then getting a HDDVD player.

Sheppard
Who cares if it doesnt have a decoder chip, you arent going to be playing games while watching a film are you.

Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted November 9, 2006 Global Moderator Share Posted November 9, 2006 i want one pretty bad, but that means re-buying a lot of my DVD's in HD format, and i will probably purchase this after Christmas off of eBay, mainly because the price will drop significantly. WOW, this is amazing.. it's releasing in Canada tomorrow, and only for $199.99!! thats the same as the US price.. thats awesome

Sheppard
Meh im just going to go with the download service. Thing is its only a rental, and you dont get 1080i/p (depending on your tv), all the downloads from microsofts service are 720p. You also dont get any extra content.
