RadialFX
I beginning to LOVE firefox. I'm currently using 2.0 but can someone explain what the different builds on their ftp site mean. I found nightly, tinderbox, deerpark and another one or two. Also, it seems to me that there were also some optimized builds around. Can someone give me some insight on this. I'm really starting to get interested in this browser. I'm not worried about beta or even alpha software, (been working on pc's since 1982) so if there are some experimental stuff out there I'd like to know about that also. I've really been slow to convert but DANG after using it for just a little time I'm pretty fired up about it. (No pun intended) Thanks!
supernova_00
nightly is a build released everyday. tinderbox is usually hourly builds. deerpark is the old code name for firefox 3 and now its minefield. Minefield is straight from the trunk which is the newest and ever changing/often broken code. So if you want a bumpy ride and a lot of frustrating days with a broken browser then get Minefield, this is the latest nightly http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir...11-11-04-trunk/ you will automatically be updated everyday unless you change to ask you what to do but you should always read through the "The Official Win32 INSERTDATE [Trunk] build is..." threads before updating so you know whats going on in that build for the day located here http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=

The trunk is a more experimental branch of development that is currently leading towards Firefox 3.0. When compiling the code, I switch on some optimizations in the compiler allowing for some better browsing performance.
