Pentaborane
About 6 months ago there was TONS of hype about the Xbox 360 having heating issues (both the consol itself and the power supply). Have these issues been dealt with yet? I am interested in buying an Xbox 360.
spenser.d
It's pretty much a non-issue unless you go ahead and decide to put your console or power supply on your carpet or in a very enclosed space, which isn't smart in the first place. -Spenser
NoLiMiT06
Heck i played GoW for 10 hours straight last weekend and had no lockups :) And yes I have a newer console.

Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted November 17, 2006 Global Moderator Share Posted November 17, 2006 thats pretty good.. my first gen console (nov 22 '05 release) would heat up like a hot over cooking a turkey dinner for 12.

MadFerIt
The truth is. If you have a room with a moderate temperature (20-25C... Don't ask me what that is in F) and a reasonable amount of room between your 360 and any wall.. You shouldn't experience ANY overheating. If you're console is freezing up after gameplay, something is wrong with it (if you meet those two requirements above). So I would definitely get a replacement. I know you aren't saying you have a 360 with the problem of course.. I just wanted to say anyway ^_^.
AimLXJ
If you bought a Xbox 360 1-2 months ago, everything is fixed...
gunnerhkjp
I wonder what they "fixed" to get the temperature down?
Brandon Live Veteran Posted November 17, 2006 Veteran Share Posted November 17, 2006 The console never had an overheating problem. Some people had defective units and everyone made a big deal about it somehow equating lock-ups with overheating - when really that wasn't the problem. If you buy one it will be fine.
