For the record, I'm from the USA and I don't hate Canadians. I've been to the Pacific Northwest and I didn't run into any rampant Canada hating there either. :o

Why would BC want to secede from Canada and become a US territory, possession or state?

On the other hand, it would make it easier to transport that fine Canadian green into Washington, Idaho, Montana and points south. Hmmm.

WTF? As much as they hate us, we still need our weed supply.

Just for the benefit of the Americans here...

"they" referred to people from B.C.

"us" referred to people from Toronto.

Thus the sentence should be read as "WTF? As much as the people from B.C. hate Toronto, we (in Toronto) still need our weed supply.

So that French Canadians can become a majority? NO THANKS :p

I don't know... It looks more and more like around 2010 there may be another referendum for Quebec... I don't even wanna know the results on that one.

Stupid Question. Would never happen. And canada DOES NOT ALL SPEAK FRENCH... Thats Quebec if anyone doesnt really know anything but their own country.

Read the previous thread and it is hilarious how childish people can be over a hypothetical situation. Especially from a fellow Canadian bashing Ontario with nothing to back it up. This seems to be the norm these days, people with strong opinions about places they have never been to or people they have never met. Everywhere has its beauty, so don't label hastily.

Edit: History repeats itself...

I have a better idea, Give canada a stick and the US a stick and let them go at it for a while. Last person standing wins.

I think everything should remain the way it is. I am American and my opinion is i wouldn't want Americans destroying everything that makes Canada so awesome and great

That wouldn't surprise me, however BC leaving Canada can't see that. If anything its Quebec first, then mayb Ontario (as it could survive on its own since it has 1/3rd of the population of Canada) and honestly I don't know if I would like it or not but one of the governments have to go, there's too much red tape in our country for things to change.

When I mean a province leaving Canada, it would become its own country, not part of another country.

If any province separated Canada just wouldn't be Canada anymore. Except for Saskatchewan.

Just kidding... but really, does anything ever happen there? It seems like it's just a big block of nothingness in the middle of nowhere.

Sure then Alaska can become a true state, because it will be attached to another state.

But B.C. becoming a state will never happen, unless all of Canada merges with the USA too become North America.

But for the sake of the poll I voted YES !

But first it would be best to get the British out of British Columbia !!! and by that I mean the Queen and British Monarchy.

It would be way better if B.C & Alberta became it's own country !

Hell no. I love where I live. If we became part of the US I would be forced to move. No offense to you yankees, but I would hate to live in the US with your government.
