1,000 Xbox 360's @ $100 each

They will be getting a call from me, and I will be buying one for $100. Page finally loaded over 10 minutes later, and said all were gone. There is NO WAY anyone could have loaded their page unless they were only letting certain IP ranges in (which I'm sure is what they did), or they are just running a HUGE SCAM and no one got one (maybe 1 or 2, no way 1000).

Let us know how it goes. I'll call as well if it works.

seriously Amazon needs to make sure they have the capacity to handle traffice like this next time they run some deal like this, so everybody can get a fair chance to at least try to get the item and not be able to get it jsut because Amazon's servers suck.

hey the bike deal is still available for $60. Too bad I don't need a mountainbike right now..

I was thinking of getting the bike, but one guy said it shifted by itself and thats the entire reason I refuse to ride the bike I have now. I was standing on it and it shifted and sent me sailing.

The reason is becuase millions of people are trying to get into a small window at the same second. Imagine having 10,000 people in front of Best Buy at 6:00 when the doors open and they only have 10 computers at $100...it would be a mess...wait..that is supposed to happen tomorrow :p

However i do believe that stunts like this do not really serve any purpose other than make 1000 people happy and 1 million people ****ed...

"Come back at 11am PST"

10:59:45 :: page refresh

11:12 page finally loads "Sorry, SOLD OUT!"

If amazon is going to hold contests like these, they should atleast have servers powerful enough to handle them (I couldn't reach for the site for 10 minutes straight).

agreed. for a company that can afford to sell 1000 xboxes for 1/3 of the price, they cant even manage to have better servers.

yeah i fully expected those numbers, even at a minimum of 10,000 people clicking at the same time you would be lucky to get one. I wouldn't be so ****ed if I lost the bid because somebody typed their password in faster than me or went through the prompts faster, but to not even be able to access the entire amazon.com page from 1:57 until 2:10 is just pure bs.

1000 isn't that big of a number but still. Amazon had 100% packet loss (for me anyway), as far as my computer (and everyone else I know) was concerned, the site was down. Then the first page load I come back to, having it sold out seems very shady. I'd like to see people who actually got them.

Feels like a marketing ploy to me.

Mine refreshed after 4 minutes... And it was sold out already. Someone said theirs refreshed at 11:01 and it said sold out!

Here is what it looks like if you did get one (NOT ME)...
